A year after announcing their partnership with Caliburger, Miso Robotics is launching their AI-enabled burger flipping robot arm
Uses thermal imaging and image recognition to tell which burgers need flipping
Can handle 12 burgers at a time
Not 100% independant - worker bring in patties and take cooked ones, apply cheese, and assemble sandwiches
Miso Robotics raised 14 million in funding to develop the robot
Costs $60,000 for the entry level model, but pricing is expected to decrease later on
+ 20% annual recurring maintenance contract ($12,000/year)
Miso hopes Flippy can be taught to chop, deep fry, grill, or add seasoning and cheese to patties.
Designed to make up for cost with decreased wait times, better consistency, and decreased food waste.
(tech like this is going to make it even harder for small food businesses to compete)
But wait, there's more: He got shutdown after just one day for being too slow

Supposedly able to cook 2000 burgers a day but after one day, Flippy was taken offline to be upgraded to work faster
Left with a little sign saying he’d be “cooking soon”
The employees that work with him are also being trained to allow Flippy to work faster
Likely due to the increased volume at the store due to the news of Flippy being deployed
Newegg customers in Connecticut receiving tax bills because Newegg didn’t charge them sales tax

Newegg supplied the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services with amount spent by all of their Connecticut customers from 2014 to 2016 - so they could charge customers for the tax they didn’t pay
Apparently no subpoena or warrant involved, the DRS just sent Newegg a letter and they complied
Weird because Newegg has a history of fighting things like this pretty hard
In the past Newegg has even sued a patent troll after they dropped their case against newegg
Sample of what that letter might have looked like: https://youtu.be/kDUY1fxMcZk?t=331
Letter sent by the DRS to residents including the amount owed, the interest, and a penalty for not paying.
Newegg didn’t warn customers until AFTER the DRS letters were sent and the news came out
Couple of issues:
Newegg not informing customers
And whether charging this tax in consitutional
Current ongoing appeal by South Dakota to overturn a 1992 Supreme court ruling
That says companies with no physical presence in the state of sale are not required to collect sales tax for that state.
Companies like Amazon already charge this sales tax
American Security software company McAfee is set to acquire Canadian VPN company TunnelBear
The details of the deal have yet to be disclosed
McAfee says they plan to integrate TunnelBear’s tech into their own VPN “SafeConnect”
But they intend for Tunnelbear team to continue to work on prooducts under it’s own brand
Also according to the report, TunnelBear is a profitable company
Because McAfee is American their VPN has to comply with US data collection laws
McAfee was acquired by Intel in 2011, Intel even rebranded it to “Intel Security”
Was later split off into a new company with the old “Mcafee” name in partnership with private equity firm TPG
This is McAfee’s second acquisition since becoming a seperate company again, and only 2 months after the first.
Modders able to put Coffee Lake CPUs into Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards
Source 1: s4nari - https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/903965-modders-able-to-put-coffee-lake-chips-into-intel-sky-and-kaby-lake-boards/
Source 2: http://www.overclock.net/forum/8-intel-general/1665657-coffeelake-completely-working-100-200-series-chipsets.html
When Coffee Lake came out there was a big fuss made over its lake of backward compatibility with Kaby Lake and Skylake
it might have worked for the most part, but it didn’t work well enough or reliably enough for Intel to allow it be made into a market product
So they software/BIOS locked off compatibility
Most of this was due to Coffee Lake’s different power setup
It’s not necessarily that the board doesn’t have enough power delivery
But the boards power delivery is distributed over more pins to better support Coffee Lake’s 6 core chips like the 8700k
Wccftech reported that ground pins went from 377 to 391
Power pins went from 128 to 146
But users on the Win-Raid forum have showcased, with a full guide, how to get a i3-8100 “completely working” on a Asrock H110 board
https://www.win-raid.com/t3413f16-GUIDE-Coffee-Lake-CPUs-on-Skylake-and-Kaby-Lake-motherboards.html
Benchmark: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/7001381
The modders say the different pinout doesn’t matter because they are just left disconnected as those pins are just “reserved” on Kaby Lake except for 2 which can just be covered with tape
the extra pins only offer 8% greater impedance,
That lower power chips like the i3-8100 are said to be “fine” without
May have issue with overclockable/higher TDP chips
Apparently someone has a 8700K working, no word on how well

No benchmarks?
“Completely working” doesn’t mean tested, especially in the long term
Some users on Chinese forum Baidu.com were able to get this work in December of last year

We saw back in February that Fortnite beat PUBG’s player record
http://www.denofgeek.com/us/games/fortnite/270868/fortnite-beats-pubgs-player-count-record
But now they are also winning on Twitch
Seems like a lot of the success has come from the crazy popularity of Twitch streamer “Ninja”
Averages around 70,000 concurrent viewers with peaks well over 100k
Plays primarily Fortnite
Drone crashes in Arizona National Forest, starts a wildfire

16x16 hobby drone crashed in Arizona’s Coconino National Forest, near Flagstaff, Arizona
Unclear what kind of drone it was
Drone caught fire when it crashes, setting fire to a grassland area called Kendrick Park
The fire spread to over 300 acres, but 30 firefighters were able to contain it within the day
The pilot was identified and charged with starting a forest fire
Lawmakers are pushing to criminalize drone flying in wildfire areas
A spokesperson for the forest says it’s legal to fly a drone in the forest as long as it doesn’t take off in a wilderness area and as long as there are no nearby wildfires
Rhode Island proposing a bill forcing ISPs to block ‘sexual content’ and charge one-time $20 fee to view it

ISPs will have to give the money to the state to “help fund the operation of the council on human trafficking”
ISPs "shall provide... a digital blocking capability that renders inaccessible sexual content and/or patently offensive material as defined in § 11-31-1," the bill says
Under that statute, sexual content includes depictions and descriptions of any act of sexual intercourse, whether “normal or perverted, actual or simulated”
Depictions of masturabating also considered sexual content
Other blocked items include child porn, revenge porn, websites that facilitate prostitution or human trafficking
To have ALL blocking disabled, you must
Request in writing that it be disabled
Present ID to verify you are older than 18
Acknowledge receiving written warning regarding the “danger” associated with deactivating the filter
Pay the one time $20 digital access fee
With current wording it seems the filters for illegal things like child porn, would also be deactivated if you paid the fee
You ain't getting no gaming rig for $250. You need a motherboard (at least $50 on eBay or whatever), a GPU (Good luck) and storage ($150 for a 240/50/6 GB SSD + 1TB HDD). Save up $600 and then talk to me.
Why use a mITX not making it cheaper but your Case is an ATX, and that makes room for more expansion. Besides that i dot see how i could make this any cheaper. and i dont think a 1060 is much more expensive.
EDIT: So turns out 1060 is a bit pricey but this is already a sharp build. Get a decent SSD and a better power supply.
I'd recommend waiting a bit but the 6700k is still a good processor. I'd say shell out for the GC right now. Getting a 1080 might be good for because if you change architecture you end up needing 4 new PC parts

Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, there's literally nothing in that PC worth upgrading. That system is like, what, 1 gen old? Not worth it.
Maybe a monitor upgrade to 1440p 144hz or something better if you don't already have one.
