  1. Hello everyone, I'm currently building a gaming PC for the ground up and was wondering, if I'm buying both RAM and MOBO new from a store is there a chance that I will need to update the MOBO's BIOS for the RAM to run properly? I'm buying an MSI Z370 PC PRO and was considering Corsair vengeance LPX, DDR4, 2x8GB, 3000MHz, CL15 (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15). I checked both MOBO's and memory's compatibility lists and they should work together. However I was not able to find any information on due to what or when is BIOS update needed and since I am unable to update it myself (would need working memory for that) and am not to happy about the idea of taking my hardware to a shop and paying for updating it, I'd like to know how does it work. Sorry for a messy post but I'm kinda in a hurry and would appreciate any help, thank you. 2. So after reading what people here had to say, I've done some changes to the build and here are the parts: MOBO: ASUS TUF B360-PLUS GAMING CPU: i5-8400 GPU: ASUS GTX 1070TI CERBERUS RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB [2x8GB 2666MHz CL16] PSU: be quite! System Power 9 500W / Cooler Master MasterWatt 550W SSD: TOSHIBA OCZ TR200 240GB HDD: WD Blue 1TB CPU Cooling: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 LED Turbo CASE: SilentiumPC Regnum RG4 Pure Black TG Thanks for all the help!
  3. According to PCpartPicker this build shouldn't pull more than 366W but I know it should be taken with a grain of salt (especially that it's just a website) and that you should have some power in advantage which is why I think I don't need more than 500W
  4. I think that if I had to stretch for more premium parts and leave something decent, I'd go for 2666MHz RAM kit and stay with a 500W PSU especially if it's Be quite, which I believe I can trust. (correct me if I'm wrong)
  5. I did think about faster RAM but sadly in Poland 10$ is not as little as in USA or Canada. It's not a lot, but it makes you think if it's really worth it.
  6. I take that into consideration, SSD is something that I'm still not decided on
  7. It will be fitted with a 144Hz display and mostly E-sport titles like Fortnite, so I figured 1070Ti would take better advantage of this monitor. Here is a link to a polish store that I mostly look on, you can change the language to english in the top right corner. https://www.komputronik.pl So if this PSU sucks and I don't need 600W will this do? be quiet! System Power 9 500W And what air cooler would you recomend?
  8. Hello, I've been asked by a friend of mine to help him build a Gaming PC as I'm the most techy person he knows ( as the title says, I've never done it). I've been doing my research and am pretty confident in what I've came up with so far, but would be more than happy to know what you guys think about it. I'm from Poland, the budget is around 5000 PLN (1300 USD) The PC will be used primarily for gaming in 1080p, web browsing and very light programming. There is no need for including peripherals in the budget, it's all for the PC itself. There are no plans for a multiple monitor set-up. The budget is not more flexible than + 200/250PLN Part list: MOBO: ASUS TUF B360-PLUS GAMING CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti CERBERUS 8GB RAM: GOODRAM IRDM 16GB [2x8GB 2400MHz DDR4 CL 15] PSU: Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 600W 80 Plus Bronze SSD: GOODRAM CX300 120GB [Writes 540Mb/s Reads 555Mb/s] (I will probably change it for an M.2 SSD compatible with the mobo) HDD: WD Blue 1TB CPU COOLING: Corsiar Hydro Series H45 CASE: SilentiumPC Regnum RG4 Pure Black TG Please, feel free to give any advice and share every worry you'd have about this build. I will be grateful.
