  1. Alright, i would just go for any old computer you can get your hands on, an old 2500k with 16GB RAM (2x8GB) and possibilites to upgrade to 32GB RAM is a really nice setup. RAM is almost more important then CPU power, since transferspeed are more important then fast calculations. After you get an old computer you install FreeNAS or unRAID. I personally perfer FreeNAS, but unRAID is not bad. try yourself first
  2. Look for an used computer, you can get alot of hardware for a cost of ~5000 SEK (Your location says your from Sweden and so am I), thats about $550 USD I would suggest go for more RAM then CPU power, an 2500k works good for what you're tryin to do. Case, PSU, HDD and motherboard is up to you
  3. If you are only going for one drive i would go for a small Synology from the Value-series https://www.synology.com/products/series/value If you want to go for an unRAID or FreeNAS things gets expensive fast..
