    Neither, I suggest you to wait a little bit, get more money (maybe 600-700 bucks?) and build a decent system. Upgrading RAM and storage on your laptop will not grant you much of a performance boost, since it's mostly CPU/GPU dependant. And an APU system would be fine for now, but it's definitely not futureproof. Also, could you give some examples of games you're planning to run?

    Right. RAM can not store data unless constantly powered, which means you'll have to have an additional storage (HDD/SSD) to load the data into the RAMdisk before you boot up. So, no, with modern SSDs breaking 1 GB/s read speeds there's little to no need of using RAM as storage.

    I wouldn't expect something of high quality for 20 bucks, but chances are you can repair them yourself, soldering iron is your friend.
