So I'm currently building a Threadripper PC and I've reached the last phase of the build and I need some help on a motherboard. I'm running the 1950x with 64gb of 3200 Corsair Vengeance rgb ram. I've purchased a EVGA 1000W power supply and am still trying to track down a good GPU been back and forth between using an RX 580 or perhaps two in SLI, or trying to find a GTX 1070-1080 ti. But my question here is all these things need one major component to work a motherboard. I'm split between the Asus Zenith extreme on the high end and the GIGABYTE AORUS gaming 7. I could live without all the big features of the zenith extreme but my big question is the 8+8 power connector of the Zenith extreme vs the 8+4 power connector of the Gaming 7. I plan to overclock Threadripper and I know the Zenith extreme 8+8 will level out overclocking to be more stable but is the 8+8 necessary? can i overclock Threadripper and keep it stable with the 8+4?
