  1. No, I don't know how to that How often do capacitors fail?
  2. Motherboard Avg: 37c CPU: 34c GPU: 65c RAM: 39 c m.2 SSD: 50c Temps are listed in screenshots labeled load 1 & load 2, temps taken during gaming. Idle temps are also above load temps.
  3. Cleared CMOS and set bios to optimized defaults and still have the same issue.
  4. I have a CLR_CMOS button on the motherboard, would the accomplish the same goal?
  5. Do you know how to reset everything to stock speeds for asus motherboards? I think I have tried reset defaults but I think the overclock was still on for the cpu.
  6. I have not added any new components, but I have unseated gpu, ram, mobo fan plugs, psu connections with no difference. Would the bad circuit be on the motherboard?
  7. Hello, My computer has been shutting down at random points when i'm gaming for the past 4 months. I play mostly overwatch and it runs for hours sometimes and sometimes minutes, then a random crash usually happens about every day. I don't think that heat is the issue because the components seem to be cooled enough. I have removed overclock and then put it back on and no difference has been noticeable. I thought it might be the psu, but I spoke with corsair and they don't believe it is, although I haven't sent it in. Also everytime my computer shuts off, I have to turn off the power supply with the on/off switch and wait for the lights on the computer to die. Then I have to wait about a minute before I turn back on the power supply and turn on the computer. Once I hit the case power button, the computer boots up for about 2 seconds, shuts down, and then starts a normal boot up. This happens every time my computer shuts down. The event viewer shows issue 41 every time my computer crashes, with some other errors and warnings as well. I see eventID like 10016 and 8233 occur often, not sure if those are related. Overclock is set at xmp, DRAM: 3000mhz, I think cpu is 4100 and cache is 4200. I don't really know how to completely remove it, but I don't think it is the issue. Screenshots show my computer at idle and at load when gaming (overwatch). Thank you for any feedback/help! 8. Well the Dell laptop has a Max-Q design so a bit lower performance, but lower temps. The screen is 4k UHD and a better IPS display, and there is thunderbolt 3 inside. There is also a finger print scanner on the home button. Honestly I am thinking about possibly getting the Dell 7577. For the extra $250 I believe it is worth it.
  9. Thanks for the advice, I would say low weight is more important, and quietness during idle or low load shouldn't be too much to ask. No G-Sync is 100% fine. Would it be better to just upgrade an 8 GB RAM laptop to 16 or find one already done? I would say the most important requirements is the hardware: i7-7700, gtx 1050-1070, 16 GB ram, 15.6" display, 1 TB HDD, portable enough so less than 6 lbs. Everything else is just extra. I'm not so sure how long I can wait without a laptop, even with an 8700hq, the performance upgrade isn't worth it, possibly a thermal upgrade will be beneficial. But I am most likely going to need one soon.
  10. I specifically said no clevo. Do you work for clevo, or something because you post a lot of suggestions for clevo. The y720 is too heavy. The Acer seems decent. Thanks for the suggestions.
  11. Hi there, I'm new to LTT forums and I'm looking to buy a new gaming laptop. I was wondering if now is the best time to buy with after Christmas sales or wait after the new year. I am also wondering if I should wait for any new release laptops that will come out in Q1. I want to use the laptop for heavy gaming, heavy CAD rendering, Photoshop, and more. Looking for good price to performance with some premium features. Specs Wanted: <$1500 (maximum) CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ RAM: 16 GB DDR4 GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 - 1070 (Highest choice of GDDR5 - For example gtx 1060 6 GB instead of 3 GB) ( Max-Q is okay, ) HDD: At least 1 TB (7200 RPM wanted but not required) SSD: At least 128 GB (Either PCIe M.2 or SSD okay) Battery life: 4+ hours of non-gaming use (Preferably 6+ hours) Display: 15.6", 1920x1080 FHD, Preferably IPS display, 60 hz refresh rate, low ms response, bright screen, high accurate color gamut, high nit amount, wide viewing angles (If possible - 120 hz, low ms, G-Sync) Weight: Less than 6 lbs Sound and size: Preferably as quiet as possible, and anything around 1" or less is fine, good cooling Keyboard: Backlit, rgb prefered, anti-ghosting, doesn't get too hot Webcam: HD 720p (1080p preferred) Ports: USB 3.1 type c, USB 3.0, rj45 (optional: HDMI, mini-display port, thunderbolt 3, SD card reader) I would like laptop from a larger OEM (Dell, Asus, MSI, Lenovo, gigabyte, etc.) This selection shows off what I am looking for and am indecisive about purchasing: Dell i7577-7425BLK-PUS MSI GE Series GE62MVR APACHE PRO-041 ASUS ROG Strix GL503VM Hero Edition MSI GF62 877 I know about the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop but I'm not sure how much I like the gamer look, keyboard, and screen.
