SATA has the following advantages over USB, at least when it was developed way back when (what was it, 2004?)
USB back then was limited to 480Mbps (or 60 megabytes per second). After overhead, it's really more like 40 megabytes per second on a good day. IDE's maximum speed was 133 megabytes per second. SATA's first generation is 150 megabytes per second. USB 2.0 and earlier is single duplex. To a storage drive, that means you can only read or write. Granted, while they probably don't do both at the same time anyway, you couldn't for example, issue more commands to the drive while you were reading something. Purpose built protocol for storage drives. Technically you could do a USB to SATA but that's still overhead I'm also not sure how complicated the USB protocol is, but I'm sure it's more complicated than SATA due to USB's more generic purpose nature.

Ever since I was young, I was gaming on a pc. I couldn't get enough of Halo Combat Evolved and played for hours on end. I ended up transferring to console because the pc became quickly outdated ( mind you, i was about 5 lol). As of recently (2 years ago) I have been interested in computing and thought it would be cool to build my own system, so I put my mind to it (more like my wallet to it) and I was in 6th grade two years ago so I had no real source of income so I had to start saving some birthday money and small under-the-table jobs for a small pay. So I kinda put off the building and searching for parts because I knew things would advance etc. Now, it's November 2017 and I have about $1000 USD to spend on my beautiful PC build, so I start with my case (at the time, I barely knew anything about cases so I just bought whatever I thought looked cool) and that was the DIYPC-Gamemax-RGB. This $80 case is honestly not too bad but I would never buy it again if I had the choice ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811353135&cm_re=gamemax_rgb-_-11-353-135-_-Product )  . Then I got my CPU for Christmas that was on sale on cyber Monday ( I5-7600K for only 200USD) from there I got the rest of my components other than my GPU which is what I was stuck on. I barely had any money for a good GPU and waited for a good sale which I found 2 days ago on OutletPC which I got very excited about and can still feel the endorphin high fading away lol. This GPU is an MSI 1060 3gb that I got for 280USD
which very quickly sold out (https://www.outletpc.com/zs8841-msi-geforce-gtx-1060-3gt-oc-3gb-directx-12-192bit.html )and then started selling again for about 450USD. Honestly, I am going to be happy when I get to build my system although it is not my first physical build (I built my friend his rig), I am still insanely excited. This has pushed me towards looking at studying computer hardware for college and has gotten me slightly more motivated with my future (me only being in 8th grade). It really amazes me that you can literally make a transistor the size of a single nanometer!!! That's only 10 times larger than a hydrogen atom. Also this has made me look more into quantum computing because everything today is pushing technology and we don't want to be using computers that are the size of whole rooms, in this case, and probably only in this case, smaller is considered better . Thank you all for reading my little story, and feel free to look at my build and say whatever you want.

Kinda odd if you would ask me (ajit pai just made it a more free nation because now the ISPs cant slowly raise their price altogether for internet to in the end screw the people over)

The DAG file, that must be loaded into the VRAM of any GPU in order for it to run Ethash, and goes up in size slowly over time, is now over 3GB, so 3GB cards can't fit it in their buffer, so they can't mine eth anymore.

But you can still mine zcash and monero and other things so I don't foresee 1060 3GBs lowering their prices.

In general , I'm surprised how many people do not know that an electric fan is designed to run at 100% speed perfectly fine. Much in the same way a light bulb can run at 100% brightness , or a desk fan or ceiling fan can also run at 100% speed.

I suppose the assumption is that running them at 100% speed decreases their lifespan , but that's not the case with electric fans that are made to be run at 12v at all times. Many forget that computer fans used to not have any speed management at all and fans would run at 100% at all times. I understand today that fans have speed management to reduce noise , essentially large fans spinning slowly can push lots of air but still be quiet. But it's funny to see people concerned about heat yet running their fans at only 50% speed or lower assuming the fan could be worn out running at higher speeds.

Now if you did want to wear out a fan , running it higher than it's rated like running it on 15 volts could definitely wear it out real quick. Or , even running a fan too slowly can cause it to build up more dust that usual and gunk up the motor pretty early. This usually happen with tiny fans.
