  1. Seeing you have the MG278Q. How is the monitor itself? Any problem with it being a TN?
  2. One is the Freesync model while the other is the G-sync. Anyone who might know this?
  3. Greetings forum members, Background About 3 weeks ago I bought myself a DELL U2515h for €300,- as upgrade from my 6 year old Samsung Syncmaster 2333. I received the monitor 3 weeks ago with dead pixels, so I RMA'd it. I got a new replacement with no issues. Yesterday, my monitor simple died. I was watching Twitch when the monitor just shut down. At first I thought it might have been the power cable, but it wasn't. Today I've send it back for RMA. This is the first time I've upgraded my monitor, but so far it's leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I plan on keeping a monitor for a minimum of 5 years. To see it die within 1 month is pretty bad. Right now I have two options. Ask my money back or get another replacement. TN vs IPS I've been looking around for a different monitor, and so far I've narrowed it down to the following monitors. NOTICE: Don't recommend something else. ASUS MG278Q - 1440p 144hz TN 27 inch for €500 ASUS MG279Q - 1440p 144hz IPS 27 inch for €580 My activities Most of my time is being spend on the internet. YouTube, Twitch and reading. For school I mainly use the Office Suite. I don't do any graphical work, but I do enjoy messing with Photoshop (sometime). In regards to gaming. Most of the games are shooters, but I also enjoy playing RPG, RTS, Action, Racing. NOTICE: I'm not a competitieve gamer. What should I do? This is basically the issue. Should I get another replacement, or ask my money back? I've done some research of those two ASUS monitors, but it seems that they have QC issues like yellow glow, back-light bleed, dead pixels etc etc. Someone even said: MG27..Q lottery. Lastly. I've explained my activities. Would the +€80 over the MG278Q be worth it? €580 personally more then I want to pay. €500 is just the limit, but of course it's TN. Last words Hopefully I've done a good enough job of explaining my issue. Apologies in advance if there any grammatical mistakes. I'm from the Netherlands, and English isn't my main language.
  4. I got it during the day, with the sun shining in my room. I already lowered the brightness to 50%. 100% is really really bright.
  5. I recently bought a DELL U2515h. After 2 hours I noticed I got eye strain. The area above my eyes felt weird, like having pressure around there. I've never had a IPS monitor, not 1440p. Will the eye strain go away, or might I have to return the monitor and get something else?
  6. I've been in need of a new headset for some time now. My decisions was to get myself one of those HyperX Cloud II for €89.- Just now, literally 15min ago, I looked into a Blue Snowball. The quality is pretty impressive, and that for only €79,-. The H558, which seem to be good for gaming, sell for €139,-. My question basically is if it would be worth spending more instead of getting a HyperX Cloud II. I don't stream, and have no intention to do so. I do enjoy playing MP games in which you need to role play.
  7. I might get a PS4 for those exclusives, but I don't know how I get audio working. I have a Logitech Z323 and U2515h monitor (with my PC). How can I connect a PS4 on this setup? Do I need to get some converter?
  8. Yeah it's dirty! Also mind the monitor. My DELL U2515H is RMA right now because of dead pixels (bought it 3 days ago ). Any ideas for LED lights, mood lamps etc?
  9. Hey all, I find my current desk pretty bland. It's lifeless and I want to get some nice mood. What can I possibly do to make it feel good? I want to keep it as cheap as possible. Get new desk lights? LED lighting? Lava lamp? Here is are some pictures of my current desk: http://imgur.com/a/3F7HU
  10. I've basically been unable to "unsee" the dead pixel. Pretty annoying when you finally see it Is it possible that it might come back to life again?
  11. My new U2515H arrived today. After setting it up, and gaming on it, I noticed that there was a black dot on a white background. This wasn't when I had just turned it on. The entire monitor works fine, but this black dot does attract the attention :(. Sending it back will take a whole week, and according to DELL, they don't give warranty for under 6 dead pixels. http://imgur.com/a/ucibz Just need some help on what to do.
  12. Hello, I would like to play some old games without it stretching over the entire monitor. The problem is, is that I already changed between the 3 scaling modes, and nothing changed. I would like to have the original resolution with black bars on the sides and top, not stretched.
  13. This is the specs for my current 2333T: Height: 415 Weight: 557 Depth: 218 These are the specs for the ASUS MG279Q: Height: 559 Weight: 625 Depth: 238 These are the sizes with stand. Size in mm.
  14. The monitor I want is the Asus MG279Q, which has a depth size of 23,8cm. My desk has a depth of 60cm.
  15. How close are you guys sitting from the monitor? Can I maybe see some pictures
  16. It will fit on my desk yes, but i'll be sitting more closely on the 27 inch monitor because of the size.
  17. Greetings, I have plans on getting myself a new monitor soon. For the past 6 years I've been using a SAMSUNG Syncmaster 2333T 24inch 1080p monitor. I would love to get myself a 27 inch 1440p monitor, but I'm not sure if my desk will allow it. My desk is 100 cm by 60 cm. I sit about 42 cm from my current monitor. With the monitor in mind, I will be sitting 36 cm from it. Will 27 inch be to big for me? Won't it be bad for my eyes to be that close? Here are some pictures of my desk: http://imgur.com/a/uBCr4
  18. I manually changed the speed and voltage. Voltage right now is at 1.330v.
  19. Doesn't Turbo Mode do this trough? I have it enabled in the BIOS. It's running constantly at 4500mhz, or I haven't seen it go below it. Might even just be me.
  20. Today I overclocked my 2500k to 4,5ghz. For the past 2 hours I've been watching Twitch. With RealTemp, I noticed that my CPU runs at 4500mhz most of the time. Temperatures are around 50c, but it never goes above 75c in gaming. Is this normal, or is Twitch CPU intensive? Edit: I'm mostly asking in regards to the constant 4500mhz, not temperatures.
  21. Hey all, I can't really decide on what to buy first. Hopefully someone can help me with it. Should I buy myself a H100i right now and overclock my 2500k or get a the Kingstong HyperX Cloud II first and H100i later? I am using the stock Intel cooler.
  22. I haven't been following LinusTechTips that much. Back then each video had pretty low dislikes. These days when I check the channel, I notice a lot more dislikes. Did something happen that made people dislike Linus?
  23. I'm using the following motherboard: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67_REV_31/ Sadly I'm not well known in regards to chips. Will my motherboard be enough?
