  1. Well, i'm on the fence about two cards now. MSI GTX 680 Lightening, or the EVGA GTX 680 SC with backplate. Hmmmmm
  2. I just bought 2 gtx 660ti's and have been having nothing but issues running in sli mode. Crysis 3 crashes and so does BF3 so i'm returning these and sticking to one card. I want a GTX 680 that looks good, OC's good, keeps cool and quiet, and is just best overall. Oh and a good warranty too :) I've already done a lot of research, but i would like some outside opinions from guys who love tech like me and possibly already run 680's :) Thanks in advance!
  3. So set the llc to extreme and then adjust which voltage exactly? vcore? Hell i can't remember the abbreviations right now. I'm actually playing Aliens: Colonial Marines right now with a friend. I'll do this oc procedure right when i'm done.
  4. I've done a lot of research and have viewed many videos, but none help me specifically with my particular motherboard. Can anyone out there with this board tell me step by step which specific features within the bios are key to lowering the voltage and getting a decent overclock. I have posted on here before and received some great tips, but this motherboard is a bit trickier to oc with imo. I need to know what exactly to look for and how to adjust them properly. If someone can help me with this you are truly awesome and i thank you very much. I just spent a lot of money on my new rig that i personally built piece by piece and i want to get the most out of it. Thanks again....... p.s. This mobo actually requires you to type in words for your inputs instead of just hitting enter and it pulling up a window with options.
  5. Well, thanks very much for the info. Tomorrow after work i'm going to sit around here and try to get the most out of this cpu since it's made for overclocking. I'm hoping for a stable 4.4 with my air cooled setup.
  6. Oh and would you know anything about why my ram was defaulted to 1333mhz when i first booted this thing up? I went and changed the settings to make it run in profile 1 at 1600mhz.
  7. Ok, good to hear this. My core voltage is around 1.020 to 1.12 at load
  8. This is a brand new custom gaming rig i just built. I'm just new to overclocking is all :) I have the cooler master V8 and a high air flow case as well. I did wonder about one thing though....With the oc procedure i did, the core speed drops to 1.6 when not in use and will boost up to either 2 or 4.2 when needed. Is this natural and ok for the system? I know it'll use less power this way and stay cooler so that's great, but is there a better way to do this? Maybe i could get it to drop only down to say 3ghz and boost to 4.2?
  9. With the multiplier set to 42 i reach temps around 55 to 65c. Once i go any higher using this simple method it then gets into an uncomfortable temp zone reaching 80+ quick.
  10. I just changed the multiplier from 34 to 42 and that's about all i can achieve with my air cooled unit. Can someone tell me step by step how to achieve a greater/stable oc?
  11. But that's only if the board doesn't work properly right out of the box right? That's pretty much what everyone says and even the web site.
