  1. I don't know how I missed this discussion!Yeah, I had similar thoughts. The starter kit isn't too bad for an impulse buy though, but the other prices are a bit too much.
  2. The latest in the block-based-sandbox genre (I'll coin the term BBS now), Windborne doesn't look blocky at all. It sounds pretty interesting to me. What do you guys think? http://corruptedcartridge.com/windborne-early-access-available/
  3. I'm not much of a TV guy, so I didn't know about that. Cool nonetheless.
  4. nVidia managed it with the shield? They say that it is just steams big picture mode.
  5. I agree. I also think they should push Indie development and lift their YouTube content rules.
  6. Did you even read the article? I can understand support for Nintendo, they're a great company, but this seems like fanboy behaviour to me and you should stop.
  7. Felt like sharing this one, because I feel we can have some very valuable inputs here. Title says it all, just my opinions on what Nintendo can do to improve: http://corruptedcartridge.com/can-nintendo-wii-u/
  8. Not sure how many people knew about this from the recently closed kick starter, but Palette is an interesting way of interacting with your PC. It's a modular interface with dials, switches and buttons. It wasn't intended for gaming, but the makers do understand the demand. 9. I wonder when the day will come when we have TV's with Raspberry Pi's built in, specifically designed to be a streaming client. It's be pretty awesome for a small company to market something like that.
  10. lol, really? You should look at what they're doing, it's pretty cool stuff. I'm very excited for all these new open source operating systems for mobile, but SailFish looks very nice.
  11. You may or may not have heard of Jolla, the company behind SailFish OS, a new, open source OS where navigation is predominantly achieved via gestures. (Shamelessly gonna plug my own article about it here, click if you want to learn more about it ---> http://theballofgum.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/why-you-should-care-about-sailfish-os.html ) Anyway, they have this interesting concept of the other half, where you can attach a backplate, and it may affect the actual phone. They released an SDK for it for free. Link to the article covering it : http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/02/07/jolla_toh_hardware_developer_kit/ What do you guys think?
  12. Just a quick overview on what SailFish OS is, and why it's interesting, and why, frankly, you should care. http://theballofgum.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/why-you-should-care-about-sailfish-os.html P.S. This article is written by me, so feedback is always welcome, as well as shares. Especially shares.
  13. Still unsure where you're going with this, I'm afraid. To clarify my own point, I meant the Wii was an "add on" in the sense that people would purchase a PC, Xbox or PS3, and a Wii. BF and Assassins Creed etc on the beasts, and tons of fun with the first party titles on the Wii.
  14. That's true as well, but I don't quite get your point. Yeah, Nintendo cashes in on inputs and accessories. And?
  15. Fact is, the original Wii was an "add on" console. People would have a 360 or PS3, and then a Wii for the first party titles. I think with the Wii U, Nintendo should build on this image, and indie support is a huge must for this to work even better. I don't care too much for visuals, and the main reason I would like a PC, aside from the odd BioShock and Quake / TF2, are the indie titles. Stuff like Minecraft and Invisible Inc are brilliant, and people would love that on a Wii, without the "hassle" of a PC.
  16. Huge respect for him now. On the topic of what Nintendo should or shouldn't do to survive, I'd say continue with the Wii U by adding more games. Advance Wars on the Gamepad would be awesome! Making a new console would be too much of an investment, and if they port software to other platforms they'd have to completely give up from hardware.
  17. Literally sprayed tea all over my tablet : )
  18. Well, Avengers is the one you're really missing out on. Personally I was underwhelmed; possibly because of how hyped up I was for it. I'm not a fan of goofy humour. The lack of plot is off putting, but if you want to see some action it's OK.
  19. I think the hand me down case I'm getting can fit ATX and Micro ATX MoBos.
  20. Title says it all. I'd like to make a budget PC for gaming, just the one monitor, and mostly indie titles, old FPS games like Quake Live and Team Fortress 2, and, as a one off, BioShock Infinite. I'll be using the AMD A10 7850K. Any recommendations?
  21. <====== The guys from Cowboy Bebop. Yep, it's an anime. Pretty good one, too, just revolves around a pair of bounty hunters in the future. Really unique settings and great characters.
  22. Well, that's the plan now : )Time to go through those W3 tutorials a page at a time until summer
