    If the battery works in another laptop and the computer works without the battery I'd guess something is wrong with the battery circuitry in your laptop. That's usually not something that's easily diagnosed or fixed at home.

    In terms of performance, the Crucial's 3D NAND might be an increase. I personally would get the WD Green or Kingston.
     
    Also, your thread title states that you want a 128Gb drive, but all your links are to 120Gb drives. Which one are you looking for?

    Agree, I have another laptop with 7200rpm which aint that bad so no plans on that to upgrade HDD.
