  1. Gona check its dimensions, thanks for the suggestion, although it seems to be thicker than what I would need
  2. From my research I found that eGPU isn't as efficient as an internal GPU even though if the internal GPU isn't as good as the external one. Soooooo, I'm back to square zero.. Still wondering if thermal throttling can be fixed even if I have to get a cooling station?, then I could heavy game on the place I stay at and still take my laptop with me every where..
  3. Still an amazing solution to be honest especially that gaming will always be demanding!! Gona focus on eGPUs from whether they would deliver 100% of the experiance as if it was on a desktop or not. But still! This makes me more strict about the 120hz display ?. After all maybe I would get a laptop for now and save up for the eGPU next month, after all volta is on the way..
  4. To be honest I didn't think deep into this because of the display panal mainly, I need it to be at least 120hz, cuz you see if I get a cheaper laptop with like a gtx 1050 and an eGPU, then all of this would exceed the budget limit. But still sounds amazing and I will start searching my new option. But again, if I get a thin gaming laptop even with a gtx 1050, wouldn't it get throttled?
  5. True, and I know those methods might not fix the heat issue, but would it at least reduce it? Oh god.. I can't get a desktop because I am moving alot, I can't get a heavy laptop cuz it would crush my spine and I can't get a light laptop cuz it would throttle! What should i do!!!!! I thought a good paste and under volting cpu would help!
  6. Hi, I have been planning on replacing my lenovo ideapad z510 laptop for a gaming laptop Finally now I decided to buy one, and have been searching for the best that suits me which is: -17" ips 120hz fhd display -gtx 1070 -thin and light -under 1800$ US I found that Asus Rog STRIX GL702VS-RS71 is what I need. But!!!! my concern here is thermal throttling .. I found that this is the most unbearable con on this particular laptop. So my question here is, should I keep going and buy it and try these methods to fix this problem: 1- Replace stock thermal paste with a high quality one? How good would it do in reducing cpu and gpu heat? 2- Ofcourse getting a cooling pad, How good would it do? 3- lower cpu voltage. How goodwould it do? Also is it gona disable turbo boost? Couldn't find another laptop thin and light and has the same spec on it.. PS: other better cooled laptops like g752vs or something aren't good cuz of the size and weight. Also not a desktop cuz I'm always on the move. Regards
