OK, so do you guys remember this conversation exactly 2 months ago? I finally got around to writing the application and I need some guinea pigs willing participants to test it.

It's not as pretty as the DownloadMoreRAM website because I'm no artist. It's more entertaining than beautiful. It also uses my sense of humor which isn't like the RAM website so don't freak out.

So, who's willing to trust a complete stranger on the internet? If you're worried about it it should run in a VM just fine. I'm also willing to post the code but fair warning I'm not a coder by day or night so if it makes your eyes bleed don't blame me.

Can't wait to start this summer's upgrade :D Battle of the storage beasts will truly commence...

      If I end up with 8 HDDs, I'll try RAID 10 :)

For my own backup servers I think I've finally decided on using 10TB drives. Specifically the Seagate IronWolf NAS drives. Seems to offer the best Cost:TB when it's on sale and when it's not it isn't much more.

The only difference I see between them and the pro series (besides the 14TB option) is the claim that the pro's can handle 120TB more writes. This isn't going to be a real difference maker for me since this is for archival storage. With 10TB drives I'll be able to cram 90TB in a chassis that's smaller than a mid-tower & if I hack it a bit I bet I can fit 120TB.

  11. Woot! Started! And what @King Poet is saying is that he can't find anything nice about the build to say so he's redirecting to something else and trying to be nice for once
  12. Depends. Parts only? Maybe 20 minutes. To boot? Depends on the pc. Anywhere from 30 minutes on an ssd to several hours on ide drives with updates.
  13. What he means is try pulling out the battery and plugging the phone into the charging cable. Some phones it works and others it doesnt. All phones even ones "Sealed shut" can be opened. Just a matter if you can put it back together properly. Chances are what you'll have to do is go online and buy a replacement battery. Just look up guides online on how to do it but remember any damage is on you.
  14. Ooooo Nice! Wow that shot makes my pants happy
  15. Nope not in the US. Up north in the land of 100000 lakes
  16. OMFG. You have no idea how much i am drooling over all those machines...... Poor things just sitting there collecting dust
  17. ..... wow your right! Since when is that supposed to happen?!
  18. The problem there is that people are getting limited on what they can do and say because of how they are. The whole fight is once again a human rights fight. Just because you can say what you like and believe what you believe, doesn't mean you should be able to fire someone for that once you find out or be able to say your not hiring someone because of that. Basically take the whole racial issue that the US has had forever and insert LGBT members i there. It's very very similar.
  19. @PCGuy_5960 @Nowak Technically both of you are right. for that specific argument its based mostly on viewpoint of where you come from and what your beliefs are.
