How long do OC CPU's last?

Oops. Yea, either that or the 7900x. My bad.

How long do OC CPU's last?

    Intel i9-9700x

How long do OC CPU's last?

    1) Depends largely on temperatures and voltage. Higher voltage and temps means the chip dies sooner. 2) How long? I don't really see the 9700x as a "gaming" cpu since not many games, if any, utilizes 10 cpu cores.

Refurbished 1080 Ti - Poor performance

Try running MSI afterburner or something that can monitor gpu usage, power, temps, etc. If something is getting maxed out, it might mean you're throttling. Or maybe a bad card if you GPU usage is high.

Refurbished 1080 Ti - Poor performance

My 1080ti is still on 411.63, but I believe everything up to and including 416.xx is fine

Fan speed 100% but RPM is 0 CAM Software

Might be somewhere in the settings. I don't own a Grid v3, but it seems like a bug to me. Try reinstalling? When uninstalling, make sure to remove the Grid v3 drivers and completely nuke CAM from the Windows 10 registry. A simple uninstall typically won't work.

    Max liquid temps soft tubing?

The Cougar Panzer looks pretty nice actually and isn't crazy expensive. I might consider it, thanks!

    Max liquid temps soft tubing?

I've been tinkering with this case since the beginning of this year. I was originally on air cooling, but gpu temps began peaking at the mid 80s, cpu would be peaking at low 90s. Swapped my cpu air cooler to a Kraken x62 AIO, not much improvement. Ended up making a custom loop, which was some improvement, but now the liquid temps are too high . If I were to swap my case out, are there any mid towers that you recommend that's good for liquid cooling?

    Max liquid temps soft tubing?

Yep. I'm using the alphacool eiszapfen temperature sensor, which is placed at the top of my res (so not the hottest spot in the loop). That is connected to a T_sensor header on my motherboard and I'm using Asus's AI Suite to view the temp readings from the sensor. I should also note that I applied liquid metal to both the cpu and gpu.

    Max liquid temps soft tubing?

Removing the front panel drops temps down to 45-47C. I have considered keeping the front panel off, but the case looks really ugly when I do so. Using an Alphacool G1/4" temperature sensor plug connected to an Asus Z270 Maximus Code. Room ambient temperature is 72 Fahrenheit (around 22C). As for my components, they are actually handling more than fine given the liquid temps. GPU is at 59C and CPU package temps are 61C under full load.

    Max liquid temps soft tubing?

Yea, I know. I have 360 + 120 mm rads. I'm pretty sure it's the poor setup in my case, which is a Dark Base 700. Front intake is pretty choked off from the front panel and the top is almost completely closed off for exhaust. Looking to swap out my case in a couple of months, but I'm stuck with it for now.
  12. Under full load, the temperature of the liquid inside my soft tubing loop is around 56C, measured from the reservoir. Just wondering how warm the water/liquid can get before the tube starts to deform and leak. For those wondering, the tubes are Mayhems Ultra Clear 10/16mm.

    Overclocking Question (CPU)

You can't set the turbo boost to 4.8ghz yourself. Your CPU clocks itself automatically, and within the limits maximum defined by Intel.

    Overclocking Question (CPU)

"Turbo Boost" is a feature that Intel CPU's have that allows all or some of the cores to reach a higher frequency than their base clocks. This turbo feature is typically quite conservative, and is defined by Intel. You can view that information here:https://ark.intel.com/ Overclocking on the other hand, allows you to push further than that turbo boost limit defined by Intel. You are on your own however as Intel no longer guarentees that whatever you overclock to will be stable and within safe operating temperatures and voltages.

Is this 1080ti worth 600 USD?

Good buy for sure. Performance is similar to the RTX 2080 which is quite a bit more than 600 USD. That 1080ti also happens to be towards the top-of-the-line EVGA 1080ti.
