  1. I'm thinking of getting it. Are the speeds fast enough to watch movies and listen to music? US blocks most of the pages for copyright
  2. Just to add some perspective to the "the sky is falling" crowd Net neutrality was only in effect from 2015-2017. That's two years. Before 2015 I was able to access whatever I wanted. I'm still able to do so. I'm not saying this is a good thing but lets not get into panic mode yet LOL
  3. The OP of this thread complaining about not getting replies fails to reply... Irony?
  4. That's a scary thought... I would trust the Chinese government over the US government to manage our internet. I'm not really happy that ISPs are allowed to pick and choose what data gets to me and how fast because of the implications. Right now you can get almost anything on the internet but say if I'm the owner of Spectrum (A major ISP in the USA) doesn't like Hillary, Trump, Communism, Capitalism, Ford, Chevy, or whatever they could restrict that content from my customers. Think of it as a version of the big Chinese firewall controlled by billionaires in the USA.
  5. I figured "The mating habits of North American Sea Turtles" kind of gave it away but I guess not everyone has the capability to understand /jk /s /please don't give me a frowny face
  6. Ah gotcha... Just an example of people posting questions and not answering replies. He did say "example" too LOL I think the OP of this thread is upset because he didn't get good replies but if you look at the one I posted you can see why. I know I couldn't give a good reply to that post. BTW my coffee is cold. Can you tell me why I have this problem?
  7. I don't think that's the OP unless it's under a different name. OP is food158 His last post I saw that didn't get a response was this one. Some problems won't get a good answer because there's just not enough information given to solve the problem. Perhaps someone with experience could ask the needed questions but I've found out that if you put more information in your OP you're more likely to get good replies.
  8. joke jōk noun 1.a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline.
  9. This sounds a future news headlines like "Family found dead in home from carbon monoxide poisoning" These heaters are meant for job sites and commercial applications. Not in enclosed spaces. Even though you'll be taking fresh air (oxygen) in you'll be exhausting fresh carbon monoxide into a relatively closed space. You could do this as a temporary fix with a CO detector but this sounds very dangerous since it can render you unconscious. If you happen to fall asleep at your desk you might not wake up. Options? Get a portable heater that plugs into a standard wall socket. While they can cause fires if used carelessly they emit no toxic gas. The downside is less heat so perhaps more insulation would be needed. Get a gas heater meant to be used inside. These have vent flue that takes the carbon monoxide outside. Even if you don't have natural gas hooked up to your house they can be run from a portable tank just like a job site heater. You can even get a large tank outside (local law permitting) that will run it for months. Move your desk. This might be the cheapest option.
  10. Just edit the OP making it so off topic that the mods will delete it... Might I suggest "The mating habits of North American Sea Turtles" as a topic.
  11. It's just typical business trying to make an extra buck. They'll get content providers paying to send and you paying to receive the same data LOL. Now if anything good comes out of this is that some ISP could start up offering free internet that is funded by content providers like Netflix or Google that want to push their data. This won't be easy because even though their are multiple ISP's in the USA they're all actually owned by a few big corporations.
  12. The MacBook Pro can boot into Windows. Then you'll have a Windows computer with a keyboard exactly like that of a MacBook Pro. Walmart has this https://www.walmart.com/ip/2-4GHz-Wireless-Keyboard-and-Cordless-Mouse-Combo-Kit-for-Desktop-Laptop-PC/490193568 but I doubt the quality is anything close to something Apple makes.
