So Asus replaced my prime X570-P motherboard with another one. Has the same issue.

 

Both sticks of ram work in the single slot. But it won't post (only powers on) with both sticks in the appropriate slots. I don't get it...

    I'm thinking it's the CPU. Might have to buy a 3000g to test it, then return it. I got the 2700X from Aliexpress, so I'll have to check the seller's return policy if it is the CPU. Unusual it would work for a while then suddenly fail like that.

    @James Evens you don't, but I think testing the CPU is a reasonable conclusion if the problem persists with a different motherboard.

    Interesting, I also recently encountered a bad 2700x. Maybe a bad batch?
