  1. What the hell are these mean comments talking about? I love LinusTechTips, and the best thing is you guys keep improving, year after year. The best thing is that you do this while ignoring most of the youtube drama, at least that’s the inpression I get. Keep on powering this sandal steam powered boat of massive awesomeness. You guys are awesome.

Edit: By the way, the best thing is tha- Just kidding. I actually dislike the «please like share subacribe» thing at the end of each video. ples stop. Actually don’t, that ending is the golden staple of LTT. Keep on trucking.

You do know (research) that Hemp manufacturing was heavily influenced by...The Newspaper industry, because their current wood pulp to paper machines were far to expensive (I.E. cripple them) to replace - therefore, the Hemp industry, which is by FAR SUPERIOR to wood pulp in terms of...well we can get into that entire other subject and no I don't mean marijuana - in terms of everything (yet we cut trees down instead...because Humans and money) was never allowed to flourish in the US - to the degradation of us all.

(the point of this paragraph is to help you understand that Laws aren't made to help "us" this standard would have to have a benefit...to only a few)

    And it still hasn't changed.

So when people start saying "Lets make this a law" I want to kindly tell you to "stay in your lane" "mind your own business" and "quit trying to use the Courts to influence any portion of capitalism, because in the end it makes it far harder for anyone to start up a business when you heavily regulate the ability to do business (this used to be a Country of dreams because it wasn't retarded expensive to start up a business - I own 3 so I have reference) allowing those currently in power to stay alive in their market" but this is a far deeper conversation and not one we can fix on this forum, but have, sure.

Ok, let us stay away from laws. How about this. Let’s say everyone in the world somehow has agreed to adopt a new standard. All new houses are built with the new standard, and people can include the old standard if they want to.

    (same text from this point)

Let’s look at a factory producing power outlets, a steady amount every year.

The new standard requires new molds, maybe new tools, and some other new things.

For the factory, this does initially cost more energy to start up.

As time passes, the new standard will see rapid production growth, as all new houses require them.

The old standard would decline slowly, until after many decades, no one uses the old standard.

Now, let us be clear. A change to a new standard will require more energy than just maintaing the status quo.

How about the long run, globally?

Would Earth with many standards as today, require more or less energy, compared to an Earth where everyone used one global standard?

Have you calculated the amount of "energy" is used running a lightbulb in todays standard, for lets say 100 years...versus replacing just 1 receptacle.

I haven't done the math, this is your idea so I challenge you to do so, to support your claims - how much energy in watts is consumed in a lightbulb running 5 years in current standard (we will say, US perhaps?) and then the amount of energy required to "create" a single receptacle.

Convince me with facts that this is the way to pave forward.

Well. Let’s say a new law requires all new houses built must require a new standard, and optional to include the old standard.

In comes the GO GREEN'ers to lynch you, should they ever decide to do this.  I mean even I can agree this would be a 100% waste of time and literal energy.

The amount of ENERGY spent to dig the precious metals, the materials for plastics etc... just because?

Its nothing like USB, or USB C - there is zero benefit beyond...cords.

Sorry Bob quoted you but agreeing with you 100% lol

Energy and resources, precius metals, isn’t this just a question of producing less of one and more of the other? Like, the amount of resources dug out is constant, regardless what is made? Them new houses will be built anyways.

Although it is true for those who travel little. And then when travelling, you already probably have an adapter.

Yeah, I don’t think worldwide standard power plug is an urgent problem these days.

^^^. Is replacing every single outlet on the entire planet a better option than carrying some adapters? Cause if you don't replace 100% of them you'll need an adapter sometime.

I can only imagine the process would take a very, very, very long time. Like, the new plug would be standard in new houses, and leave the old houses alone.

At least there would hopefully be one and only standard for when we populate other planets.

  6. We should take all the plug standards today, throw them all in a big crock pot, an cook up a plug that has all the benefits.

While we are at it, we might as well make it so easy to plug in, even a blind person could do it.

It shouldn’t be too hard if EVERYONE  agrees to replace all standards with something better. I mean, we did it with USB, and are currently doing it with USB-C. Can’t be that hard with power outlets, right?

  7. So I decided to buy this phone, after walking around with my iPhone 5s for almost five years. It still works, I even replaced the battery.

Despite the Ulefone Power 5s having only 4gb ram and being mediocre compared to other phones today, upgrading here improves everything.

The camera is better, the screen is bigger, it’s not so small in my hands, and of course, going from a 1560mAh battery to this chinese beast will be a heavenly step up.

What I want to see however, is better batteries. Like, more capacity in the same weight and size. Imagine the iPhone Xs with a 13000mAh battery, but it weighs the same, and it is just as slim as it is now.

Week long batteries in the slim phones we all love and have.

PS: I used to have my iPhone 5s encased in a Lunatik Taktik Extreme. Thus I am not too worried avout the size and weight of the Ulefone.

after they replaced the factory thermal compound with liquid metal, they didn't put back the base. Wouldn't this mean that the fans would be suffocated because the base has case feats which would lift the fan of the table?

I know right? They just let it sit flat.

"Oh, and now it thermal throttles." No shit sherlock, of course it thermal throttles with its fans blocked.
