Going to try having my current monitor in portrait along the new one (coming tomorrow :D ). Should make programming a lot more enjoyable. Surprisingly my current monitor looks decent in portrait for an older TN panel.

Looks cool, what's the size of the other one.

The current one is 24" 1080p while the new one is 25" 1440p (takes the same footprint as the old one since the borders are much thinner on it). I'll see how it works out if I don't like it I'll re-purpose the old one as a Chromecast screen for my bed :)

My idea was to have a monitor the has a height similar to the height of the portrait one so they go side by side looking like they were made to be setup like that.

Sorry if I didn't express my idea right and you don't get it

I would love to but I don't have the space for a what would need to be about 32" + screen in landscape. My speakers are at the very ends of the desk and from what I measure (we'll see) I should just fit the two in landscape if I want to so that is an option. Was thinking of an ultrawide screen but there are too many compatibility issues and I don't have a graphics card good enough to run it :/ I got this monitor: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00WK39NXK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That's still decent, have fun programming :D

The old monitor will only function as an extra space when playing games for stuff like MusicBee, Chrome, Discord, etc. and when I'm working for Word/Powerpoint and Chrome. All main action will happen on the new screen.
