Why will my friends PC boot up and then turn off and then once we took out the ram it didn't do it but it made 4 long beeps 1 short beep so then we thought it was a ram issue so I looked at the manual and we only have 1 stick of ram and we think its because the motherboard only supports dual channel ram so any one who can help please help and here are the parts in my friends build.

I have a question should I buy a rtx 2080 for christmas and buy a new cpu after christmas around my birthday ? because i dont think the prices will stay the same on the rtx 2000's and plus i dont play highly graphical games but i want this gpu for the future anyways if i only have a phenom 955 because i understand it will bottleneck and be slow but prices on cpus wont change that much so thats why i would buy a new cpu on my next birthday. But should I get a rtx 2080 with the cpu i have or stay with the gtx 1060 and upgrade to a ryzen 2700x?

I have been talking with my friend and I was wondering if this build would be a good build for me to build for home because it seems like it should work for him all he wants to do is game and school work on it so it should be good he mostly will play csgo and other games in the future

Ahaha I've got 5,269 profile views. Yeah I just built a pc last weekend for a friend who drove down from Oklahoma. I was disappointed because I was semi rushing to see if everything worked and neglected the wiring a bit. Wasn't awful, but it could have been better. He's got super super slow internet and so we prioritized downloading over wiring since he was only down for Thursday night to Saturday morning and needed a good 500gigs or so to download. Cool though because I bought his old system and going to build that this weekend for a plex server, and my other buddy is probably going to build his the following or sometime soon. Having all sorts of pc fun
