  1. Yeah, I'll find the base model in 17" and then look for a version with gtx1070/120hz
  2. So just going by Chassis, what are some good models?
  3. Alright I found a MSI GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro w/ 1070 for around $1,670 (I'm sorry for the site language I'm in Japan) (MSI website specs) https://jp.msi.com/Laptop/GE72MVR-7RG-Apache-Pro059JP/Specification (store) https://www.ark-pc.co.jp/bto/customizer/?pc_id=0759 The chassis is the previous GE72's 420 x 298 x 30~37 mm 2.9 kg vs GE73's smaller 419 x 285 x 28.5 mm 2.8kg The only down side I notice off the bat is no Thunderbolt3 (but there's 1 USB-C) What does everyone think?
  4. So MSI is a good name to go for in terms of quality. Would a slimmer case in 1070 like the GS or GE series offer similar quality cooling or is it really just the hulking ones? Also should I expect good VR performance in anything besides a 1070/80 SLI?
  5. Well I saw a good deal for an ASUS G701VI-XB72K with gtx1080 but reviews said it was big, heavy (12lbs), AND hot so there has to be something else going on. (Making the choice I would prefer cool and quiet over small) Also, anyone know how bad the heat issue is comparing the 1070 and the 1080?
  6. CHOICE LIST UPDATED: https://www.ark-pc.co.jp/bto/customizer/?pc_id=0759 (Japanese) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073R414L6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2TC87EJKQMY9O&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X1BGVTV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A25GKYFKYYL0J9&psc=1 http://www.eluktronics.com/PA71 So my Asus with GTX 680m is starting to show its age (the numlock key opens the calculator now for some reason) and I thought it was time to upgrade... IMPORTANT: - Under $1800 - GTX 1070+ - Screen: 17" 120hz + good color quality WOULD BE NICE: - Not too hot (I heard thinner laptops have worse heating and dust issues) - Not super big/heavy (Although I heard MAX-Q graphics cards take a performance hit) - Modern plugs like USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) DON'T CARE: - Battery life (I move around a lot, but the laptop will be plugged in 24/7) - RAM/SSD/HDD (I have all of that leftover from my current laptop so I'm planning on just wiping and porting them over)
