  1. Hi, folks! I'm looking for an external GPU enclosure that can handle not only the GPU itself, but also gigabit networking and a few storage expansion slots (preferably m2, but sata3 would be OK too). I understand that there's a bandwidth problem, so if there are options that can utilize two Thunderbolt 3 ports for data transfer (networking and storage + separate x4 thunderbolt 3 for GPU) -- that would be perfect. Building a custom enclusure for the job is an option too -- so if you have some links to barebones hardware to share, I'd be glad to see 'em. Ideally I want an all-in-one box with storage, networking and the GPU to have with me on the go, as I'm travelling a lot, and having a desktop PC is not really an option for me.
  2. Thanks, guys, you've put my mind in peace
  3. Nah, I can't, tried already once I got it It auto-clocks up to 3.7 and manually it won't go any further, OS crashes on boot
  4. Hey, guys, just got myself a very sweet deal for 1080 Ti to replace my 1060. Currently I'm running Ryzen 7 1700 in my rig and I'm wondering if it's lower clock speed compared to the higher CPUs in Ryzen lineup would cause CPU bottlenecking. Would it or would it not, and if it would which CPU would be optimal here for 4K gaming in terms of the least expensive yet sufficient variant? Aiming for stable 60FPS in latest titles. CPU performance in other tasks is totally satisfactory for me
  5. > GCN1 So I can just throw in a used HD7770 and it should be OK?
  6. Is amd 4K support on the older cards THAT bad? O_o
  7. Hello, everyone! I'm searching for the cheapest graphics card that can handle a 4K 60Hz monitor. My usual tasks for this rig will be web, coding, CPU-computing and a bit of watching youtube, so 4K (or any other) gaming is a non-factor. By now, I stopped at NVIDIA GTX 900 series low-end part, but I'm not sure if it will be able to handle 4K or if it is an optimal choice regarding performance/$ in these particular circumstances. Also, I'd rather prefer an AMD card because I'm running Linux and AMD has a WAY better support, but I don't know a lot about AMD graphics to make a good choice The other components, just in case: - AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - 16 GB dual-channel DDR4 - MSI X370 Gaming Plus Thanks!
