The main reason of why AMD laptops are bad is not for their performance, but manufacturers often sabotage their performance of the devices by using some "cost-cutting" features such as using a single-channel RAM instead of double channel and using cheaper, slower components.

How about the Matebook X Pro?

Both laptops have heat and quality problems, so I wouldn't recommend it.

1. Depends on use case. If he's gaming/3d modelling/whatever graphically-intensive a discrete card is a must have. 2. Larger laptop = bigger battery = bigger screen = more powerful internals (most of the time) = probably worse battery life.

I rather have an Alienware. But if I really have to choose, I don't think I would even get an Alienware either. (says the guy who got an faux-Alienware)

Just got the Dell 7577 yesterday. It has a GTX 1050 Ti in it, and I'm okay for it's performance. Yet I wanted to play something more decent in the future, so, any good recommendations for an Thunderbolt eGPU enclosure? I heard that some enclosures have compatibility problems, so I need some good ones that works well.

Overkill for literally anything, which is (somewhat) OK, but then how they made it in gold?
