Hey all, just upgraded my cpu and motherboard (i7 12700k + tuf gaming z690-plus wifi d4) and everything works except internet? Everything else in my house can connect to the internet but the pc. I have tried ethernet and wireless but nothing pops up at all. I try to troubleshoot but it says "windows could not find a driver for your network adapter" but it gives me no solution. Just that alert. Ive tried all sorts of youtube videos and articles but i simply cant get a network to show up. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks a ton for reading. I was planning on getting an i5 12600k or an i7 12700k but was wondering if i could keep my current cooler im using on my i7 7700k. Im using the noctua nh-d15 and saw they had a mounting bracket to bring compatibility to the alder lake cpu. Will this suffice or is the shape of the new processor altered enough to where i wont get proper cooling? Thanks a lot for taking the time!

I game at 1440p on ultra typically. Have a 144hz monitor and looking to take full advantage of it. The 7700k is still fine but its a bit dated at this point so i wanted something newer to compliment the new card. Looking to play any triple a game at the previously stated resolution and fps

Hey guys, was looking to upgrade from my 7700k here in the near future and was wondering what you all think would be the best option. Im using this pc for almost exclusively gaming btw. Im using a 3080ti if that influences your opinion to one cpu ovet another. I can do the i5-12600k or i7-12700k. I feel like the i9 would be unnecessary but if its that much better for gaming purposes i could still go for that i suppose. Was going to try to avoid i9 to help pay for the new motherboard ill need (ill def take recommendations for a mobo to).Was also planning on keeping my ddr4 until ddr5 is more widely available and a little cheaper as well. Hey all, was wondering why my fps is dropping so heavily on forza horizon 5? I have settings on ultra with no ray tracing at 1440p. I was using the nvidia performance overlay and saw i had my fps 100+ while my 99% would dip to single digits at times. I dont have this issue on other games like vanguard where it runs butter smooth without dlss help or anything (id sure as hell hope for what i paid lol) was wondering if anyone has an idea as to whats up? My rig: I7-7700k 16 GB ddr4 3080ti 1 TB ssd Z270-A mobo 850w 80+ gold psu

I have a fully modular power supply but am replacing it soon with a higher wattage one in the coming days. Would i be able to keep all of my components plugged in and simply plug them into the new power supply? Im staying with the same brand (evga) with cables and psu. Reason i ask is because a friend somehow screwed his hard drive after doing the same thing im about to do. Im guessing its unrelated but not totally sure

Yea thats certainly the ideal situation, just wasnt sure if i could get away with a simple gpu swap. If im hindering the gpu significantly ill just wait on buying a 3080. I just wasnt totally sure if i was taking away 5%, 10%, 20%, etc. of the cards capabilities. Im using a 2080 super right now thats been fantastic but i have a friend that could use a card. Was planning on getting the 3080 and selling my current card at a reasonable price to help pay for it

Yea especially with having the Super edition the 3070 wouldn't be worth it at all at the current price. Thats why i was looking at 3080 and 3080ti but its so hard to find good deals on those as well. Likely just waiting it out

Thanks for the reply my guy. I think im getting more and more convinced that its just better to just wait for 40 series. Unless prices somehow fall to original msrp but i really doubt that happens before the new cards drop. I hope the shortage is solved by then

Gotcha, the fact that 3080s are pushing 3090 price is a bit crazy. Just wasnt sure if the performance of the 3080 matched its current price point but im not too sure about it.

Yea totally agree with selling the gpu seperate. Maybe put an offer up for the whole build with an option to buy the 2080 seperate? Ideally would sell all of it if i do end up getting rid of the gpu. Thanks for ur input btw appreciate it

I was wondering where you all have bought or sold pc parts/builds from. I was thinking Craigslist or Facebook marketplace but didnt know if there was another recommended site to use that is more targeted for other pc enthusiasts?

Hey all, just got my PS5 and was downloading the new CoD and saw it was split into 4 downloads. The Cold War game itself and Campaign part 1,2, and 3. Makes sense to just wait for the benchmarks like u said to make a decision from there. Really hoping itll be a simple gpu swap and no need for any other replacements

I was looking to potentially sell my evga XC Ultra RTX 2060s to pick up a 3070 or maybe even a 3080. I dont intend on upgrading my motherboard which wont be able to take advantage of the PCIe 4 (using ASUS PRIME Z270-A). Im not really sure how much performance i would be losing due to that. I would appreciate your opinion on whether its worth getting rid of my current card to upgrade to the 3070/80. Still rocking an i7-7700k which ik is a little out of date so im unsure if the processor would bottleneck these new cards to any extent. Thanks for taking the time to read
