Spongy141 replied to Princess Luna's topic in Tech News
Wow RIP CSGO, thanks valve for fucking up my favorite game. -
I really don't see anything wrong here.

As a premium user, this is not fucking anyone, Spotify is giving a feature that I have never used to free users, it's simply a good business move.

i9 outperforms a cheaper Ryzen CPU and an i7 8th gen... Surprise
Spongy141 replied to azblurbit's topic in General Discussion
So you think 1-5% performance increases before was competitive from intel? Wow interesting thought consept. Though I do get what you are saying, though that is not at all what I meant, sure AMD is also finally competition, but that never should have been an excuse for intel to stop competiting. -

People need to stop taking this so negatively. Just shows how well AMD is doing, since intel is finally releasing competitive CPUs. -
Finally, Intel chips that clock high without heating up the entire room.

Same when 4G was being rolled out. Honestly, it is more likely that I will win the lottery than the telecommunications industry managing to upgrade its cheap ass infrastructure at the same time. Nothing ever happens at the same time like that , reality has too many variables to just say "let's upgrade rn"

https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/01/chinese-company-claims-its-laser-ak-47-can-set-you-on-fire-from-half-a-mile-away/ read it before even was posted here. 50 milliwatts would never reach the said 1km, it would scatter within ~10 feet. Basically sure you can do damage with a 50 milliwatt, but 10kilowatts plus is required for it to reach the said 1km and actually do damage still (make sense now?) So like I was saying, we are still far off being able to do this with today's battery technology, just TOO MUCH POWER is required, OR THIS WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE. Not as easy as you are thinking it is.

I'm pretty sure the only way for a laser to kill someone is by carbonizing them.. Also the wattage was taken from the article I was reading yesterday about this "Chinese Laser AK", really was to point out the fact that the power required is an absurdly large amount that we are not yet capable of on the said level. Even if it was down to 10kilowatts^5 still would be out of reach to cram into the size of an AK.

Okay sure, but regardless, the specs state that the gun is powered by regular lithium-ion batteries, okay now taking into account that you need at least 10kilowatt^10 to gain enough heat to actually light someone on fire. So with this, using basic logic, this is not happening lmao, no battery yet is capable of discharging the amount of power required in the time required, not only that, but not many batteries can even store the amount of power required so yea, again this is not real news, hate to say it but "Fake news". This is just responses from the stupid trade war going on, basically trying to scare us into thinking the Chinese military is a lot stronger than we think (which it is not). Hypothetically this "laser gun" would have to be close to the size of a warehouse, so maybe they are putting them on aircraft carriers? But not handheld rifles, sorry just not possible (yet, long ways to go in battery technology sadly)
