How would this help him at all?
"Look at me, I am rich so I am going to poor countries to just show how Rich I am" ?Like I said, it can be a real perspective change. If you haven't experienced it yourself, maybe you wouldn't understand. As I explained, its not just going to the country, but actually experiencing what its like to live there, such as trying to scrap together a computer with a local average wage.
A lot of people live in a bubble, not interacting with others outside their bubble. When you leave your bubble, it can completely change your view on things. When you never leave your bubble, you start to think small issues are actually big issues and become more self-absorbed, believing you're more self important.

And a miserable one as well, with the socioeconomic gap getting larger and larger and substantial areas are lagging behind in development, economic output and life quality.
I know. In Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is very nice. I would live there. But there are many rural areas too. Probably the outskirts of a big city would be a good place to make videos.

To be blunt, I feel like Linus, over the past year or so, has turned into the stereotypical self-absorbed rich person. I believe its part of why the scandal happened recently. So I would like to see Linus travel to a country with a lower GDP per capita than Canada and experience what the tech world is like for people living there. My suggestion is Malaysia since its a tech focused country, safe, most people speak english, and its very far away from Canada.
I think a Scrapyard wars season in a completely foreign country could be extremely interesting to watch, with the competitors limited to a budget of what locals would make in a month. Learning how much people make in other countries, and comparing it to the costs of computer parts, would be very educational.
And maybe another video in the country "I upgraded an elementary school's computer systems!". Its a little corny, but I think Linus's image could really benefit from some real, in person, charity work. I think he, as a person, along with his audience, could really benefit from seeing what the tech world is like in "non-western" countries. It can be a real perspective change.
LTT's 3rd most popular video is "Building a PC CHEAPER in CHINA?! feat. Strange Parts", so clearly the idea of this is popular. (Just don't go back to china again, go somewhere new).

nothing, but most people stream today. Its a bit archaic, like requiring an optical drive - valid reasons exist, but its not really mainstream anymore.
really?
How do people listen to music/bands that isn't on a streaming service? Streaming is great for discovering music, but I couldn't imagine not buying music I love. What if one day streaming services stopped hosting those songs? Or indie music that isn't on any streaming services? Buying a FLAC copy of my favorite band's new album on bandcamp seems like a no-brainer. I'm patiently waiting for Oct.27th to do that too. -
...what wrong with downloading music?

Why not a collab with AVGN/cinemassacre? https://www.youtube.com/@JamesNintendoNerd
I know Linus usually prefers to collab with terrible and often downright awful creators, but why not collab with one of the most respected early-days youtubers? He could probably use a server upgrade.

I'm still not sold on it. A tablet is just simply better. Its a bigger screen and includes a case with a physical keyboard. The only times I feel like I want a bigger screen is when I'm traveling, and I'm going to have a backpack with me anyways, so it no problem stuffing my tablet in there.

The hardest part is actually convincing people to show up. You have to offer something very special for people to want to go, especially if you expect them to pay.

Definitely not my first choice for a youtube channel if I was to do one. I think that would be kind of depressing.
Kinda started that way but his most recent ~dozen videos have been very interesting. More like mini documentaries.

I came here to post this. I haven't watched it yet but I generally really like KiraTV's latest videos. Its probably worth watching

Check out his channel, most of his videos are about drama among internet communities, particularly game or streamer related personalities.

my issue is purely that the LTT brand was the only logo mentioned in the title and only one showen in the thumbnail all others drivers are nameless and faceless
Do the other brands have big youtube channels that, if mentioned, would bring in significant amount of views?

I take issue with 2 things in the project farm video
1 the LTT logo being featured in the thumbnail while no otjer manufacturers logos are featured in the thumbnail
2 at the end he thanks LTT for letting him buy the screwdriver early ( he did pay full price ) but it seemed more like a feature our screw driver and promote our product type video
even that it came in 3rd and was kinda alright this doesn’t sit well with me specially when LMG posted a floatplane message that they intended to launch the screwdriver on Friday but due to current events that wasn’t happening anymore this review seems more like a promotional video given the timing
I kinda felt that way, but they are both youtubers, so I think its reasonable to collab.

It looks good, but I just don't really like ratchet screwdrivers. A good quality normal screwdriver is much cheaper and much more sturdy.

Noticed LTT is down another 100k. They were at 15.6m last week, but now at 15.4m

I was kinda shocked by this. STILL being defensing, wow. Complaining about some random meaningless comments. He is more mad at the comments than he is at his and the teams failings.

They really should have addressed the billet labs thing better.

I find it interesting/concerning that Linus last visited the forum 11+ hours ago.
A break is probably good, to focus his thoughts. He also possibly set his account to invisible so he doesn't show as online.

For reference, I have no issue with the framework investment. He has been very clear about his investments and I understand the separation of the entity Linus Media Group vs Linus Sebastian the person, and why the assets of the two are in separate pools. I take more issue with the appearance of impropriety regarding the ASUS reviews.
I agree. I think the framework investment is fine. I still like he invested in them.

I will say that I figured that was standard Youtube creator practice since I see other YouTube channels doing the asterisk thing a lot too (Cathode Ray Dude as an example off the top of my head). But the difference with LMG is they have the resources to go back and fix the errors relatively quick, and they should be doing it.
eh, I rarely see others do that to correct major errors. Its usually done to add context. "*This was filmed during a thunderstorm, so audio quality may be bad during some parts of the video", something like that. Not "*What is currently being spoken is entirely false"

Linus should travel to poorer countries to clean up his image and level his ego. International version of Scrapyard wars maybe?
