Monitor goes black for a few seconds while gaming
crainingaming replied to crainingaming's topic in Troubleshooting
That is strange, because it has never been an issue before, and it even happens in less GPU-intensive games like Valorant as well. -
This never used to be an issue, but it happens so often now that it's getting very annoying. I've made sure to have all my drivers up to date and have Windows updated as well. I have a GTX 1080 with a ryzen 7 3700x and 32gb of corsair vengeance pro RGB 3600 mhz ram. The issue only happens while gaming, and is specifically more prevalent during cutscenes, I've noticed. I've attached a video of it happening, please let me know if you need any more details! Untitled video - Made with Clipchamp.mp4

Hey! So I was using my Fifine k688 mic and it was working great for the last few weeks. Just now I wanted to turn the volume down a bit so I reached for the volume knob behind the mic and I accidentally hit the wire which randomly disconnected the mic even though the wire didn't come out at all. Since then, my PC doesn't recognize the mic at all, or at least not as a recording device because the mute button on the mic is still lighting up, and still responding when I press it. I've tried restarting my PC multiple times, uninstalling the USB devices from device manager, and that's about it as I don't really know what else to do.

That's interesting, I've never had an issue with corsair. I'll try my luck with another kit and see how it goes -
Pc not posting after I replaced my ram
crainingaming replied to crainingaming's topic in Troubleshooting
HI, idk if this helps but I've tried one stick in slot 2 and the PC didn't even turn on, then put the other stick in slot 2 (both running as the sole ram sticks in the pc) and the PC booted just fine and normally. Does this mean I have a defective stick? -

Yeah I have got them in the right slots, ill have a look at the bios -
Hi! I replaced my corsair 2x8 3000mhz ram with new corsair vengeance pro 2x16 3600mhz ram, but the pc won't post anything. The pc is on, and the ram is showing its rgb colours which leads me to believe that it is fully pressed in, but nothing is showing up on the screen. I'm also using an MSI x570-a pro board, and a ryzen 7 3700x. Thanks x

So is it safe to power off on this screen and then wipe the drive manually? -
Hey guys, so I just got a new ssd and wanted to reset my windows so that I could get a fresh start on my ssd and I'm stuck here. I have a boot drive and everything ready, is it safe to shut my pc off here or will it work soon? Thanks!

update: the retention clip broke off because my friend pushed it past its boundries and it clipepd off. signing off for now, unless there is a way to get it back on
-
hey guys, so the title basically says it all. Im having trouble with the retention arms that connect to the built in plastic of an x570 board. Ive got one in, but the retention rod with the lever is being very resistant, Ive had all 3 of my friends try but it just wont budge. Is it supposed to be like this?

I'm probably going to get that corsair, if none of this works I'm confident that I just suck at pc building- 34 replies

I'm gonna get a ryzen 7 3700x and a new x570 board with it, and new memory. I guess a new PSU now too but my gpu is staying cuz my 1080 was too expensive to hurt throw away- 34 replies

Based on this, I'm just gonna get a new pc and use the same gpu that I already have, I'll just have to get everything else new, and this is a good chance to make a more a asthetically pleasing pc- 34 replies

Will my gtx 1080 bottleneck a ryzen 7 3700x
crainingaming replied to crainingaming's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
My game doesn't stutter at all, and when I have only the game and nothing else open my memory and cpu are both around 60%. After I play 3 games, while I'm loading into the 4th my whole pc crashes but for some reason my mouse has enough power to have the light on. The power button doesn't work either so I have to turn the PSU off and on then the power button to launch it again- 34 replies

I'd rather just completely change the ram,And if I do that I'll just upgrade the cpu as well for the extra performance in other things, thanks for the help- 34 replies
