  1. probably. 2242 nvme seems to be a weird format to make
  2. i doubt youll be playing aaa games even on low. minecraft would probably be around 40-60. fortnite @ 70 on high. apex @ 30 on medium/low
  3. ahhh XD this is a proper weird system. i cant help any further than this. sorry
  4. it is ok. but id suggest using a better air cooler because that h60 will struggle with the r7 1700 the ram is a bit of a misnomer. i dont know if you want 16gb of ram or 24? i wouldnt suggest using 3/4 slots on the board. the difference in speed is a bit weird. i would suggest leaving out the single stick of 8gb and going with 16gb
  5. if it wont work with ide then idk what to do. ide is the oldest you can really go. maybe you can try and revvert the bois on the board to an older version? but seeing as though the board is old, good luck finding older drivers for it
  6. owncloud gives you the chance to make your own mini "cloud" on your personal computer and use it from anywhere

    Thermal paste

its a good idea to use artic silver 5 but the benefits aren't obvious over the stock in box solution
  8. is the drive you're using 6gb/s or 3gb/s? if its a 6gb/s maybe try and find a 3gb/s drive or try and go back in time and find a sata 2 ?
  9. maybe try and use older revisions of drivers?
  10. Try this^^ but also check if the board supports sata 3? some boards might outright deny anything that isn't directly compatible with it
  11. Thats a good idea actually. depending on where he gets the cpu, he can get a cooler with it. the wraith coolers are actually ok aren't they?
  12. Firstly, i dont know where the 633 dollar price came from seeing as though the list shows its 1256. for what you're doing, that system is a good choice. i would suggest changing the aio to a better air cooler as the h60 is good, but not the best for ryzen 5. apart from the cpu cooler, the system seems like a good choice.
  13. So, ive found a couple of 2242 nvme (im assuming thats what you're looking for) ssds on ebay but they come from hong kong: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toshiba-240GB-M-2-2242-1600MB-S-Internal-Solid-State-Drive-NVMe-PCIe-SSD-Disk/332932722896?epid=6021108905&hash=item4d845630d0:g:5DYAAOSw1ExcCdrn this one apparently is nvme rather than sata which si what you're talking about. these'll be a lot faster than sata
