  1. Moving windows around drops the framerate. The keyboard actually gets input delay. Creating or destorying a virtual desktop slows the framerate to single digits. Watching a 4K video puts the fans on max RPM.
  2. Do you know what gen the HDMI is on that card? Not all HDMI support 4K @ 60Hz, just want to be sure.
  3. Sweet, that looks perfect. Glad to hear that I wasn't too far off thinking about the RX550/560 / GTX 1050/ti
  4. See that's the thing... I though my Mac's Iris 6100 *should* be able to do as well. And it does. Just... slowly. I'd rather spend $100-$200 on a discrete GPU to not have to deal with that.
  5. Agreed, that would be awesome if that was the case. However, I'm aiming for an ITX system.. really making this difficult haha
  6. I've looked and I've only been able to find motherboard's that do this at 30Hz @ 4K. The new Ryzen 2400G would have been perfect, but there's no motherboard that supports this kind of output.
  7. Hi Everyone, I recently switched to a 4K screen for my main workstation and love it. However, I quickly learned that my Macbook Pro 13 - 2015 struggles to power this display. Since I'm looking into building a PC right now anyway, I was curious what recommendations people have for a graphics card. I won't be gaming on this machine, I mostly use it for mobile app development. While I only have a single 4K display monitor now, I'd like something that could ultimately power two of them. How much GPU power do I need for two displays to run smoothly?
  8. Sys fan header did the trick! runs at nice quiet 1200-1400rpm now, still keeps temps at bay. Thanks everyone!
  9. Tried Speedfan and wasn't able to get it to work. I'm guessing for similar reasons why EasyTune isn't working. Good call on the 3 vs 4 pin connectors. From the Corsair pump/block: 4 pin extensions -> 3 pin fan connector -> radiator fans
  10. I figured, but is it really even worth upgrading an AM3 board? I got, this mobo for free and found the CPU local for $80.
  11. Just to confirm, are you suggesting connecting these fans to sys fan headers?
  12. But the actual fans are definitely running at a high RPM, they are quite loud.
  13. Hi all, I'm new to PC building and was able to build a system from an assortment of used and new parts. I have a Gigabyte GA0970-D3 motherboard and Corsair H100 cooler. With this combo, my CPU temps never get high at all. (Like, I'd be lucky to top 50C with a synthetic benchmark. The problem is that no matter what, my CPU fans are at 99% PWM as seen in hardware monitor (or other programs). Things I've tried: BIOS Smart fan control. Tested both with and without, and see absolutely no difference. Changing the H100's fan speed button - no difference EasyTune6 from Gigabyte - I get a "driver release to failure" and can't seem to work around it. Probably 10 hours invested in that program alone.. Installing the factory CPU cooler, same problem, max fan speed. Can I circumvent this with a manual fan controller? It's annoying to have my fans whirring at 2000 RPM all the time. FWIW, using a Phanteks P400S and Corsair SP120 fans. Thanks in advance!
