  1. Cpu: i5 4670k (stock speeds) Mobo: Asrock H97m PRO4 Ram: Gskill 2x4gb 1600hz, and patriot 1x8gb 1600mhz Gpu: Asus Strix 1060 6gb Storage: HP M700 120gb ssd Western Digital green 1tb hdd PSU: Evga 500 B1 OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit So i built my friend a computer not too long ago, and he says his computer has been frame dropping like crazy. He would try to reduce settings to increase fps, but even with lowering the settings, the fps stays low. His computer struggles in games like Maplestory 2, fortnite, black ops 4, overwatch etc... I ran Unigine heaven at his house, so i dont have the snippet on me, but his avg fps was 52.9 fps on extreme. I tried putting his computer in high performance mode, used ddu and reinstalled drivers, changed priorities in task manager, but nothing helped.... Anything helps! Thanks for reading
  2. Oh sorry, i meant to put 1600mhz, not sure why i put 1666mhz. I have two different brand sticks. this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220670 and this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231635&Description=ddr3 8gb&cm_re=ddr3_8gb-_-20-231-635-_-Product yea my cpu would be around 90%~100% while my gpu is around 60~80%. I never overclocked the cpu. So running everything stock atm Cpu: i5 4670k Mobo: Asrock H97m PRO4 Ram: Gskill 2x4gb 1600hz, and patriot 1x8gb 1600mhz Gpu: Asus Strix 1060 6gb Storage: HP M700 120gb ssd Western Digital green 1tb hdd PSU: Evga 500 B1 OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit
  3. Recently i built a i5 4670k 1060 6gb 16gb ddr3 1666mhz ram, and it played games unusually bad. Especially on black ops, i'd have everything maxed out but with 40-50 fps, The game felt choppy, and changing the settings didn't change the fps at all. I also tried fornite and pubg, and was getting about 60-70 fps high settings on fortnite, and 70-80 fps medium settings on pubg. Is this normal? because i see people with higher fps on 900 series graphics cards.
  4. We aren't sure where the sound is coming out of. He has the hyperx cloud 2 and he would take the mic out of his headset and we would all still hear this conversation or video coming from his end.
  5. So basically, i tried searching up this problem and a lot of people said that it might be a stereo mix that is picking up whatever hes watching on his computer and outputing it on discord. So i thought it was that, he didn't have a stereo mix on his sound tab.
  6. Nah. hes playing on a pc, and we're pretty sure there aren't any integrated mics.
  7. Even when we did that, the sound can be heard. He would literally unplug his headset from his computer and the sound would pick up. Im trying to figure out where the sound is coming from and how to get rid of it. At this point we were leaning towards the sound being a virus.
  8. Ok, so my friend is having this problem with discord where a sound is being played from his mic even though he isn't saying anything, and he is home alone. The wierdest part is that the audio that is being outputed from his mic sounds like hes watching a youtube video, or a conversation between two people. He says that he isn't watching any videos from his phone, so i am unsure what is causing the problem, we tried doing the stereo mix fix but he doesn't have that option is his sound. So if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated!. P.S. the sound that comes from his mic is very low, like its at a whisper level of talking.
  9. Ok so i figured it out, it was my ssd this whole time. i wasnt sure why it did that but when i tried booting it with my ssd plug into my psu, it didnt work, but when i turned on my computer without the ssd, my computer ran fine. Got past bios, was able to install windows.
  10. ok so I tried a corsair rm750i on the old setup and that didn't work, however when I tried on the new setup with an I7 7700k and asus prime z270-a board on the mobo box, it posted and I made it to bios. so I am really unsure of what could have happened when I put it into my case.
  11. hmm. I never thought about it like that. Ill try getting a new psu and go from there.
  12. I don't have a multimeter, but I tried the paperclip trick, and my psu is works just fine. it turns on and it doesn't shut off like it does it is connected into my computer.
  13. thats what I was thinking, but unfortunately I don't have an extra psu to test it.
  14. I tried replugging everything in to see if that was the problem as well. but still no change
