  1. Ok! So I found reason why the PC wouldn't seem to go higher than 7.5~GB. The setting "10-bit Pixel Format" was needing more VRAM. especially with my 1440p monitor... As soon as I disabled it, I was able to use around 7.9GB Vram. With AMD SAM turned off I was able to hit 8GB usage. I might keep SAM enabled since the impact is minimal. I don't think I'll notice the color difference between 8bit color and 10bit anyways. Still annoying that the VRAM wasn't being shown as used by any program. should've just been calculated with the rest from the start.
  2. update: So the actual usage apparently is 7.5GB usage according to Radeon Software. DxDiag says i have 7.8GB available. I disabled AMD SAM, which uses some more Vram, and tested Watch Dogs 2 on everything ultra, pixel density, extra objects etc. The game ran smoother than before, but still stopped at 7.5GB. so it helped kinda, but its still not using the full amount of Vram like other people's gpu, exact same gpu. theirs can go to ~8GB usage.
  3. I have used Task Manager, Radeon Software and MSI Afterburner and they all said the same. For example, Monster Hunter: World, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Lords of the Fallen. MHW and HZD claimed I had around 7.6GB to use, but neither ever got passed 7.2GB despite more being "available" and "required". I've seen YT vids of people using more than 8GB Vram usage on Lords of the Fallen yet mine also never got passed 7.2GB vram usage with any settings. For HZD, textures will literally start popping in and out when at 7.2GB usage, over time or when I start up a browser or other applications, the 7.2GB usage stays and the game will literally remove almost every texture in the game, torso gone, plants gone, polygonal characters etc. then crash. I've been playing with lowered textures because of the "imaginary" 7.2GB VRAM cap my PC has.
  4. Vram never gets full before using Shared GPU memory. I have a MSI RX6600 with 8.0 GB of Dedicated GPU Memory. Any games I play that need to start using more Vram will slow down heavily the moment my Vram goes around 7.2GB usage. I have 4x8GB, 32GB of Ram (16.0 GB of Shared GPU Memory) but its not very fast, 3000Mhz. Games will show maybe slightly less like 7.9GB to 7.6GB. GPU-z shows 8192MB. I even booted up 2 different games but it still didn't use it. I don't know if the amount windows uses is calculated together with the rest of the programs when calculating 7.2GB usage. Can someone tell me why my PC doesn't use the rest of the Dedicated GPU Memory? Its kinda annoying to think that my PC decides not to use the rest of the VRAM or that I may have faulty gpu?
  5. I have RMA'd the CPU and have not had any errors yet with the new one.
  6. I upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5700x this last December and started getting freezes as well. Even at default ram speeds and updated drivers. perhaps the cpu is at fault?
  7. I have recently upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5700x this last December and started getting issues. Just randomly freezes entire PC while gaming and resets after a while. Maybe our CPUs are faulty?
  8. I have the same issue except for the audio. Mine does not repeat. Probably because I use Voicemeeter to control my audio sources and outputs. I also have an RX6600 and was using the 22.11.1 drivers and a Gigabyte motherboard but mine is a b450m DS3H. It has only happened during games for me so far. I upgraded recently to a ryzen 7 5700x so I don't know if its cpu related. My ram was set to default speeds of 2133mhz and still crashed recently.
  9. I have a Gigabyte b450m DS3H motherboard which already had 2 ram slots which are not working properly. The 2 slots that I use have worked without errors. I recently upgraded my cpu from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 5700x. My motherboard was updated to support the new cpu beforehand and had worked with the 2600 cpu for a long time. Now I have the new 5700x cpu installed and my pc randomly started freezing up completely to where I have to reset my pc manually or let it reset itself after a good while. I now disabled the XMP profile for my memory (G.skill Aegis 2x8gb 3000 mhz) and is now running at 2133mhz and hasn't crashed yet....its only been like 2 days so far. I have read that the Radeon software for the GPU caused similar issues to someone else so they downgraded to the 22.5.1 version I believe. The crashes/freezing would happen during load. It froze twice with Marauders, twice in Hunt:Showdown, and once during a live stream using OBS. All I see when the PC freezes is the last frame shown to me, I can't move anything or hear anything, also no BSOD. I checked Event Viewer but I couldn't tell what was causing an issue. I have also checked my SSD health and everything seems fine. Update: So I had been noticing WHEA errors and how they were very common in Ryzen 5000 CPUs. I am now attempting to turn off Core Performance Boost (CPB) in the BIOS because it was set to Auto by Default. Part list: Ryzen 7 5700x Gigabyte B450m DS3H rev 1.x G.skill Aegis 2 x 8gb 3000mhz MSI RX 6600 8gb MECH 2X
  10. I actually had that already set up. Also I found that I can push the workload of wallpaper engine onto the 710 by disabling the 760 then starting the application then re-enable the 760 when I do other stuff. Not sure if temporary or if it does what I want it to, I used the Nvidia GPU activity to see where it was and It was staying on the 710. I wonder if someone can make a program that can hide gpus from certain applications so that the app automatically goes to the gpu you want it to go to.
  11. I got a GTX 760 and a GT 710 in my PC and can't find any option to make the GT 710 do more tasks. I would like for the 710 to do easier work like run wallpaper engine while my 760 does gaming. Basically I don't want my 760 to do extra tasks other than the important stuff. Windows sees only the 760 as both the power saving and the performance card so I can't change that in the graphics settings. Nvidia control panel doesn't have the option I need, I've tried setting programs to use the 710 cuda and for openGL in the panel but that doesnt do anything. Both cards are working "fine", but only one really does anything automatically. I've also disabled the 760 temporarily and yes the 710 works during that time. I've got two monitors to both cards, main monitor to gtx 760. Is there any option for me to make the 710 take off some stress off of the gtx 760?
  12. Definitely looks like itll do the job. Maybe i can put the cable over and behind the gpu. Thanks.
  13. I have a MSI - H55M-E33 Micro ATX LGA 1156 Motherboard. My ssd is my boot drive. I believe my MB has Pcie 2nd gen.
  14. Yeah. I have an SSD which i would like to get more speed from. I would only be using 1 port. It won't be much, but I wont worry about it still bottlenecking my ssd since I got it some years ago. Thanks for the info
  15. I cant seem to find a certain product that fits my needs. My motherboard only has sata 2, so ive been looking for sata 3 adapters. Specifically a Pcie x1 to sata 3 adapter which is low profile. I could get a regular adapter, but I don't want my GPU's fan to get covered since it does get a bit toasty. I did see what i needed from Ebay once but have had no luck looking for new ones on Amazon or Newegg. It is about 1/3 of the full height and was a bit long. It had 2 sata3 ports which is 1 more than i need. I would rather not just use a pcie riser/ extension since that would just look silly.
