ThatFrizie got a reaction from Haha Consoles. in Differences MSI Gaming Trio vs Gaming X Trio
Hello everyone,
I was looking into some videocards and I was wondering.
What are the differences between MSI's Gaming X Trio and the non X.
The reason I ask this is because I saw a the Gaming Trio 2080 for just 670 euros compared to the 800 or so for the Gaming X Trio.
The only difference I saw was clock speeds, would this make a big difference? And also would it be worth to get a good 2070 Super instead for 650 instead of the Gaming Trio 2080 for 670 euros?
Thanks for taking the time to have a look through and any help would be appreciated.

ThatFrizie reacted to A. Cole in 1 CPU 1 GRAPHIC CARD 7 GAMERS pls help
Linus has done a video "7 gamers 1 CPU" which would be useful to watch
Honestly not sure if a single GPU will be powerful enough, might be the only use case that still needs SLI/NvLink
Is G.Skill bringing out 32gb sticks? I thought only corsair have done this so far, also check the motherboard specifications as it probably won't support 128gb's of RAM
How do you plan on splitting 12 cores between 7 people? you might have to wait for the 3950x with 16 cores or go Threadripper (which would probably be better for this anyway)
There's different ways to go about this, each having benefits and drawbacks, but I have a feeling you will be creating virtual machines.
Is this just a fun project or do you plan on using it allot? It seemed to be allot of work for linus to set up and he had dedicated GPU's (or that might be his 12 workstations 1 pc video)

ThatFrizie got a reaction from TVwazhere in Msi Gaming Trio RTX 2080 running very hot.
Thanks for the very detailed answer, I am temporarily just going to leave the front off.
I'm still considering what to do next as I've kind of spent my entire budget on my graphics card and I was needing to get dual channel memory, the cutting-a-hole part and adding that grate seems like a decent option but I still might end up just going for a less powerful graphics card as I can then end up getting memory and possibly a new case alongside it.

Sorry to hear for your troubles man.
But here a suggestion
Get a good 1050 ti from a reputable brand like msi or evga that gpu will perform nicely along your 8350. And it should keep some money in your budget for some new games or a cpu upgrade. The 1050 ti won’t use alot of power and keep the bills down it will also get 1080p 60fps high/medium in most games.
Hope you’ve found this usefull and have fun gaming!

NO Definetly DON'T. That CPU is extremely expensive requires an expensive platform and sucks for gaming!

ThatFrizie got a reaction from IdiotPenguin in i5 8400 for gtx 1080 at 1440p
So if you can afford it go for the 8700 if you don’t want to spend to much you could go along with the i5

If you don’t buying a new one your i5 is completely fine for now.

What motherboard do you have? Also an i7 8700 if possible will give you alot of room for the future, minimum isn’t always the best option.
