-iSynthesis reacted to Dravinian in Why are Mods making this forum Ask Jeeves?
This forum isn't so much a community of people who are together to have a laugh, chew the fat, feel like a part of something...but more a place where you can ask and answer questions, and read some tech news.

Everything else is apparently a Status Update, which I doubt many people actually read, I am sure I will be contradicted there before the Mods shut this post too, but I haven't read any updates in the months I have been here and I doubt I ever would...why would you read what one person has to say, on a forum that is designed to engage the whole community?  That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Why is this place becoming Stack Overflow rather than a place where people in a community can come together to talk about stuff and have a laugh? - as long as there is some connection to technology, the fundamental base of the community.  If it isn't offensive, if it isn't divisive, then why isn't it allowed as long as it doesn't break the rules?

That is the point of a forum, to foster a community.  It isn't meant to be a question and answer place and a news site, there are places for that.

If it isn't a community, then I for one, don't really see any point to it.  It seems like a lot of effort spent on not creating something.

Any chance that board has a second pcie-slot? If so, you could try and see if it works on that one. Mining rig GPUs generally sounds like a bad thing though, gotta say...

Either you just drag your browser over both screens (the window cannot be maximized, maximizing will always only make it appear on one monitor) (Easier option)

or enable eyefinity/nvidia surround in the drivers (more difficult option and can be annoying if you want to go back to normal each time)

I agree... Really should've gone the extra mile and get something with a properly high TDP...
Maybe a 3990X would suffice and give a nice crust, also more surface area so it would look better

-iSynthesis got a reaction from Max1996LTT in WARNING: RANT!! why can't computers ever just be reliable
I don't quite get the rant though... You're complaining that a few randomly thrown together parts that were used and cheap as hell are not working for you and that a Mac is better therefore? If you'd spend even half as much money on well thought-out and newly bought parts for a PC as you'd spend on a macbook you wouldn't have this problem right now...

All systems I built run till this date or were upgraded for performance reasons, hell an old athlon 7750BE build is still going strong with original cheapo psu, ram and motherboard. I admit, one bitfenix case ruined the statistics (prodigy) as it had a bad cable connecting the PSU to the back of the case and that thing actually smoked away (the cable, not the pc... PSU saved me there)...

But you're comparing apples to helicopters at this point... Cheap, used, not really fitting parts thrown together are supposed to perform as stable as a mac that costs maybe 10x as much as your current components... Well... That's not gonna work.
If you want stable then get new components and put them together well. You won't get an extremely cheap and stable system (except for maybe some old Dell on ebay) at the same time, neither with a mac nor with a PC.

So it seems the Zalman CNPS20x out performed the Noctua NH-D15. But after looking a bit closer to these two setups I discovered that the Zalmen fans are far inferior when it comes to m3/h (cfm) and mmH2O (static pressure)

So my thoughts are what if you put the better Noctua fans on the better Zalmen heatsink. Would love if LTT did a testing of this setup.

I mean... I gotta say, your first comment wasn't exactly nice as OP was just asking nicely...
From what I've read they won't go lower than about 800rpm which makes them kinda crappy for silent builds. Also the fact that they don't really have a fan shroud around them contributes to kinda trashy static pressure, so I'd also be quite interested in how it performs with other fans, though GN is probably the best for testing that kind of stuff...

There's some Noctua 80mm fans, they'll certainly have a ton less airflow as you said, but maybe it ends up working out when cranked... No clue honestly.
You could try out how the temps are looking at low rpms to get an idea of how it'd work out beforehand...

I'd start with C/C++ and then continue with other "easier" languages. I started with java and find it rather difficult to go to C++. You will easily be able to adapt to languages such as C#, java or even Ruby when you have a good foundation like C++.

-iSynthesis got a reaction from Merkey in SQL vs MySQL - any difference?
SQL (AFAIK) is the language used. MySQL is an application using SQL that needs a server which is hosting the MySQL database. SQLite for example does not require a server.

You need a Server hosting it and can then make SQL Querys (e.g. through java or other programs).
    e.g.

@-iSynthesis Alright. All of this comes with the disclaimer that there are so many things wrong security wise with what you are doing here, but I do understand the importance of learning the wrong way to do something to help you work toward the right solution. I am a professional Web developer.

Don't use $_GET, use $_POST. There is a character limit on the get array due to it being processed from the browsers URL bar (limit ~2048 characters).

Its probably easier to write to a file (this is basically a flat file database) and in other-site.php put that files contents into the html output.
