    In the article that NiP posted, they said he will be leaving the competetive scene...

    That he left is really sad. A team that didnt change a single player in 2.5 years and had such fantastic teamplay, i dont know how this will continue with someone else replacing fiff... :-(

    An i7 is basicly an i5 without hyperthreading which means that one core of an i7 simulates 2; So windows will see your i7 as a 8 core cpu and your i5 as a 4 core cpu. However most of the games only use 4 cores and 4 cores of an i5 will perform the same as 4 cores of an i7.

    Get yourself a book that covers stuff like that. That's how I learned the basics.
    I got one that was specifically oriented to programming games, which made the whole process a lot easier and a lot more exciting.

    This would be

    if(something == 0)
    {
        Do something
    }

    spaces that are not in variables or something or white lines are ignored so it's a format thing

    You could try "learning C# by programming games".

    Since you are german, yes I can. It's called "C++ für Spiele Programmierer". It's kinda made for younger people, but you can still learn the one or the other word of C++. Idk if it's avivalible in the play store though.

    -iSynthesis got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in Do you consider boot times "system performance?"
    Win8 booted in 6 seconds on my barracuda, now in 3. Windows 8 just generally boots quicker.

    Boot times arent important to me since i usually go get a drink or something when i boot up my computer; however my old vista pc with a 5400rpm hard drive booted in like 2 minutes; It was vista and the wd green certainly doesnt help.

    This is a build I've been planning ever since I saw @Slick oil cooled rig... Well actually it was ever since I showed my brother his oil cooled rig and he mistook it for water and thought that it would be cool if fish were in it so I figured why not do it with water.

    Yes I understand that water is conductive, I'm not stupid enough to actually mix them and I'll be doing a One year trial and leak test with my old am2+ board before I allow myself to think about building a true gaming rig in it

    Specs:
    MoBo - Asus m5a97 R2.0
    CPU - amd fx 6300
    Ram - 8gb Corsair Vengeance Lp white
    PSU - 600W OCZ ModXtream pro
    GPU - -still pending-
    Case - Aqueon 29 deluxe

    (Build= CANCELED )
    There are more pictures in the log but this pretty quickly summarizes it's progress.

    -iSynthesis got a reaction from I/O in AMD is really falling behind NVIDIA
    If AMD works more on software (better game optimisation and drivers) amd will be about the same in terms of power comsumption. Right now, AMD is offering higher compute power with higher power comsumption. I do admit that Nvidias shadowplay is extremly usefull compared to programms like fraps, since there is no fps drop whatsoever, the problem is though that this only works with nvidias kepler architekture, not with older cards, and as far as i know, amd now has a competitor for shadowplay that supports older cards aswell.

    And the idea of any shield product is just bad for me. I dont want to game on a tablet or some kind of mini controller thing that costs 400 bucks Nvidia, i want to game on my PC, with a nice big monitor.

    But now my rant about NVidia drivers: I lost 2 games of competetive cs:go now because NVidia wants to make some fuckig updates (excuse my language here) in mid game, which made my cs:go crash. I also had to completly reinstall windows because of a nvidia driver which just wouldnt display any video output on my monitor.
