  1. A friend of mine have a broken laptop with a lot of pictures and video files on it. What he told me is that the laptop have been laying in his bag being knocked around and stuff, when he tries to start the laptop it goes to windows recovery but it can't fix the problem and shuts it down again. The pictures and video files are from his two tours in Afghanistan and means a lot to him. Can I just hook his hdd up to my computer and use a software to get his stuff over to my computer? The store where he bought it a few year ago didn't want to try so he came to me with it since I fixed his last computer. I told him I wasn't sure and I don't want to be the one telling him " woops " I lost his files. I also told him to stop trying to boot the pc and wait for me to come back to him. Pro. recovery services are expensive here in Norway.
  2. Sorry, I didn't try much. She had a Blue yeti mic laying around so we ended up using that and the earbuds for sound. She currently lives on the other side of the planet so trouble shooting was done with text messages and pictures over Discord until I could hear her.
  3. So I have tried the CAM software a few times and it seems like it is only getting worse. It get stuck on startup, constant annoying messages about having to sign in, program crashes and not detected LED's or fans on some startups Is it just me that have so much problems with it. Am I doing anything wrong ? I just ordered HUE+ for the fans that came with the case but i'm now thinking about returning it after reading a lot of post commenting about problems with CAM. One last thing, Is there any programs besides CAM that works with the HUE+ ?
  4. Tried to re-seat the CPU ? any beep / blink codes ?
  5. My fiance had the same problem. She tried to use earbuds whit integrated mic made for phones. The ps4 picks it up but not the computer.
  6. Do your computer register the mic and is it working outside Discord ? Have you tried to reset the voice settings in Discord after the mic is plugged in to see if Discord picks it up ?
  7. A lot of good games are mentioned above. Diablo 3 ROS good story, nice multiplayer and you never finish leveling. Skyrim long story and Dragons..... no more info needed. Deus ex mankind divided good game with a cool story and environments. MGS 5. Open world tactical shooter, Almost naked female sniper helping you...... No need to say more. Bloodborne and Dark Souls if you like to buy new controllers every Friday and enjoy a bit confusing story. Talos Principles puzzle game that actually is cool and with an awesome and mind blowing end scene. I have over 100 PlayStation games and I like most of them. Any types of games you prefer ?
  8. I can't find anything wrong so I'm just gonna try to bend a new pipe when servicing the loop next time
  9. Yes it is ( facepalm). I was at work and didn't think before I posted it. I'm using 3 Corsair ML pro 120mm fans and they are blowing good through the rad ( at least I think so ). Some more info if it helps, maybe I have stuff that doesn't go well together. - Radiator, XSPC AX360 Triple fan radiator - Water block, XSPC Raystorm Pro AM4 - Res. and pump combo, XSPC X4 Photon 170 - Fan, 3 x Corsair ML pro 120mm - Coolant, EK Cryofuel Can I use one of the temp probes that came with the mobo and drop that in the reservoar to check the coolant temps ?
  10. It's a over clocked ryzen 1800x system. When the weather is hot and I'm streaming/gaming a long time it settles in at around 70c.
  11. Hi everyone. I just noticed something strange with one of my PETG tube bends, It have straightened out a bit by itself and is now pushing slightly on my reservoar. Is it normal after some use that tubes straightens a bit ? My bend was close to 90 degrees when I installed it but its more like 100 - 110 degrees now. I have to fix it for sure when i'm doing my maintenance next time if not sooner. Anyone else had this problem ? I use the 5/8" Clear Monsoon PETG hardline tubes.
  12. I did. I payed a lot just to keep my system free of green and blue components..... but that's just me.
  13. I can't find it eiter. I find the option to customise everything except in music mode. Maybe Asus forgot to add that
  14. your led strip isn't showing up there. I have the option to add led strips next to my MOBO and GPU
  15. I haven't tried adding led strips but are your synchronized button turned off ?
  16. I'm doing it now, I have played on Playstation and other consoles my whole life. I used computers to edit photos / videos and stuff but didn't game on them. I have now been gaming on a pc since Xmas and my hands hurt like **** after a short 6-8 hour gaming session. It's getting better but i'm still messing up the buttons when the shit hit's the fan lol
  17. I'm not sure Ubuntu is the solution for someone that expect everything to work straight away. The ASRock - A320M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard is nice but not possible to overclock in the future if he wants to upgrade his cpu. You know how it is when you first get a taste of pc building. I'm pretty sure he want to look into that in the near future. I don't mind using my own stuff so the GPU , Fans and Thermal compound is on me, I have some Thermal Grizzly stuff laying around here somewhere. But the Ryzen 3 2200G looks interesting, It's not in stores here yet but It's just a tiny price jump up for what I can see + a lot of performance gain . I'll present some options for him an ask if he can go slightly higher on his budget too. Edit: The Ryzen 3 2200G is in stock in some stores
  18. Hi everyone. A friend asked me to build him a budged gaming pc with a $500 MAX budget. I'm just wondering if anyone can see something I cant see or some better alternatives. With the prices lvl here I have come up with this Plan. - Svive Luna x350w midi tower ( It's on sale ) - Corsair TX550M psu ( It's on sale ) - WD Black 3,5" 1TB hdd ( can clone it later and upgrade to an SSD and use the HDD for storage) - Asus prime B350 pluss AM4 MOBO - AMD Athlon X4 950 cpu ( can upgrade to Ryzen later ) - HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 8GB ( can upgrade later ) - OS Windows 10 Home - Sapphire rx460 2GB ( He gets that one from me for free and can upgrade later ) - System fans ( He gets that from me too for free ) Anyone see something i should do different ? This build will cost him $496 + shipping. One last thing, It's an AMD build. I'm not giving more money to Intel.
  19. Youtube is killing itself. next will be a ban towards violent games, car chases and PC tech related stuff
  20. Hi. I'm thinking about trying Crossfire and I have a question regarding that. Do I need the same card manufacturer? I have a Strix Vega 64, can I buy a XFX Vega 64 and put that in or do I need another Strix card?
  21. I like to play games with the FPS monitoring on since I'm a curious guy. FFXV is a heavy game as Evanair says above me. I can run it at 2560x1440 on hi settings with the hi-res add on pack and get a average of 80fps with My Ryzen 1800x and Strix Vega 64. It usually uses between 7 - 15GB of system memory. When I stream it dips to around 50fps There is a page called systemrequirementslab. They have a list of game specs + a system scan tool to see if your system can play the game. I have not tried the scan tool myself. Here are some numbers from one of my streams, as you can see it uses a lot of memory. This is 2560x1440 on hi settings
  22. My Ryzen 1800x system crashed a lot when I played games. I re-seated the Ram and checked the Windows power settings. It was set to balanced so I turned it up to Performance. Haven't had any issues since that. Maybe that will help you too.
