jledrick reacted to Jurrunio in NEW GAMING PC
$30 is enough for a whole set of case fans to light up the case and cool the components. If that cooler costs $15, then it's worth thinking about.

God I'm old. I remember when fans were for cooling lol.

1. Why use a weak cooler like that, when it costs money? The stock one isnt far behind, but is still enough (even 1600 use it when overclocked a bit just fine) and given for free.
2. 450w PSU is enough for something like this, can go to 550w for future upgrades.
Tier 3 or above. The one you picked is tier 4 (G1 and NEX are the same thing)

jledrick reacted to jj9987 in why is my google account disabled
Google even says to proceed to restore. We do not know the details why it happened, it is not public information, so you will need to talk to them and find a solution.
Secondly, YouTube is owned by Google and these accounts are often combined/merged or like that.

jledrick reacted to Lurick in why is my google account disabled
Ah, gotcha. That's definitely legit then.
I get emails every now and then from various places, including google, saying that my account has been disabled but when you look at the source of the email it's not actually them but a spoofed email. You didn't happen to get one of those did you?

Try activating Windows and then if that doesn't work or chkdsk says corruption, you'll need to reinstall.

jledrick reacted to dizmo in Is floatplane worth it
Worth is something only you can decide.
It's $2.99 a month, next to nothing. If you love the videos, then I'd say it's worth it to see them a week early. You also support what they're doing.
Personally, I've been on the fence. Lately I haven't really enjoyed many of the videos, so for me, it's currently not worth it.

jledrick reacted to Enderman in Should Linus Tech Tips get involved with FIRST Robotics?
I think at least taran should check it out, he knows about vex so he probably knows about FRC too.
VEX and those other robotics kits are just toys compared to real robotics, IMO they are big limitations to creativity when you're limited to using only certain parts from one manufacturer in something like VEX.

I'm not sure I feel strongly enough to say "yes" or "no" to the poll. My answer would be "maybe" - if it doesn't take time from all the regular content the channel(s) do, and it can fit with the teams workflow, then it's definitely an interesting (if niche) topic.
I'm not sure how much of an overlap the ltt userbase would have with the robotics centric userbase that would get involved with FIRST, though. If this were to be a thing, I doubt it would be something that got put on the current main channels, and would probably have to be spun off into a separate channel, and that then begs the question of whether the large amount of work/effort to launch a new channel to host this kind of content would be worth it in the long run.
In the end, LMG is a business and although I'm sure this would be fun, I'm not sure how much business sense it would make.

Hey Guys,
I am not sure how many other FIRST members there are on this forum, but due to the increase of robotics related videos on LTT wouldn't it be cool if they checked out some FTC or FRC competitions and stuff? Taran seems to really be enjoying the small robot stuff, imagine him at the world championships in St. Louis. I just think it would be cool to see him do a video or meetup from worlds.
Also who is psyched about the game reveal next week?
sorry this has nothing to do with computers or anything of that sort.
