  1. I should have mentioned I have tried playing around with these enhancements, even disabling them not much changes, yes maybe the noise gets lower but my voice... People can't hear it, it's too quiet. I tried my headphones on a asus motherboard without realtek audio and my voice is crystal clear with no noise, enhancements disabled. There must be something wrong with my settings I believe, any idea?
  2. Hello I have been experiencing this problem for many years on many different motherboards, running windows vista to 10, all of them sporting realtek chips: The microphones plugged in are quiet! At the same time there is tons of noise. No matter if the mic is plugged in from the back i/o panel or the case front panel, my voice is way too quiet (100% volume 100% boost) and there is a strong hissing going on. To hear my voice at an average volume I have to shout in the mic. I've previously solved this problem by using a condenser USB microphone but for reasons I couldn't bring my equipment along, instead I got a brand new headset, an Ozone Blast ST. Its mic has a 2.2k ohm impedance. This problem is haunting me and I don't know how to fix it. What makes me even more angry is that everyone else with my same motherboard and similar headsets seem to have no issues whatsoever! Why me?! How the *** do *** I fix this ***? Currently running: Windows 10 pro Asrock Z77 Fatality Professional (Realtek ALC898, drivers released 2015-06-16) Ozone Blast ST Mic volume is set to 100, boost at maximum +30db P.S. Please don't link me to usb adapters.
  3. Hello, I have lots of experience with desktops but none with laptops, sorry for the noob question. Cousin has an Asus A54C that came with 4gb 1333mhz module installed with a free slot to upgrade to 8gb. Voltage and latency of the module inside the laptop are unknown, UEFI does not tell either. Question is: will it be okay if I install a 4gb 1600mhz module in the free slot? A dude sells one for dirt cheap. Let me know!
  4. The baggage will cost me 15 euros, not a big deal at all. I know, those people actually throw and stack bags around. That is why I'm looking for suggestions. Halp!
  5. Unfortunately it isn't. It costs almost a hundred to ship a monitor
  6. Hallo, I am moving to Denmark for a master degree and possibly for life. I plan on bringing my PC, especially my monitors with me. (2x HP DreamColor Z24x) How would you pack a monitor to survive the throws and shit that happens to a checked in baggage at the airport? I have the original boxes but they don't seem too safe on their own. P.S. Yes they're european monitors, their PSU works well there.
  7. I think I'm getting 2x AOC i2369V at the end.
  8. Thats quite a big bezel, isn't it?
  9. Do you have a G247HL? Can you please tell me how thick are those bezels, from the last pixel to the end of the monitor?
  10. Hello, I am planning to buy 2 new monitors in order to have a triple monitor setup for work and gaming. I already own a Philips 240p4qpyeb, which is a 1920x1200 ips display. I was looking to buy 2x Acer G247HL which are on sale on an online store in my country. They look interesting because of the slim bezels much like the Acer H236HL linus made a video of long time ago. However I can't find reviews of these on the internet Does anyone know how accurate are the colors on these units? Is the surface glossy or semi-glossy? Otherwise, can anyone suggest other 24 inch ips displays with slim bezels and decent color accuracy? (No Dell's please) Thank you for the help.
  11. I read that cloning the drive will make the recovery partition not work. Anyway I think I have decided I'll first try to see if windows update can find all the drivers needed: Yesterday I used the recovery to have "factory reset" of the user partition and I was impressed by the large amount of bloatware the recovery installs. I'll get a legit private license of windows 8.1. I hate laptops.
  12. I'll be adding a picture tonight when I'll be able to take it. As for the other questions, I'll be waiting for any help
  13. Hello, I hate laptops. I have in my hands an Acer E5-571 (runs windows 8) as well as a brand new Samsung 850EVO 120 and now for my next magic trick I will make you confused: I have unscrewed the back of the laptop to get access to the HDD cage and I see 3 ribbon cables, how the fuck do I remove them without breaking anything? Is there any way I can backup the recovery partition along with all drivers and shit in order to clean install windows on the new SSD? How do I keep my license information? Please help me. P.S. Acer's website sucks for drivers downloading, drivers do not match the hardware on my device and such issues.
  14. I'll give you my experience and opinion with this matter: I have two displays, a 1920x1200 and a 1920x1080. Many games have the locked Z axis, isometric games especially, like league of legends. These games allow you to see more, and have a wider field of view with wide resolutions and ultrawide resolutions. 1920x1080 will give you a technical advantage. The other games behave differently and allow you to see more based on the amount of pixels your display has, 1920x1200 wins here. However, 1920x1080 has less pixels than 1920x1200, meaning your graphics card has to render less pixels with the first resolution. Resources demanding games will be harder on your GPU with the 1920x1200 resolution. The solution is to get a 1920x1200 display that has display scaling capabilities, so you can run fullscreen games at 1920x1080 with black bars at the top and bottom. This way you will have the most versatile setup. As a designer and content creator I love 16:10.
  15. Yep, I read this one too, I'm confused though, do you think the monitor I got is actually IPS or just TN using ADS technology to make it look like an IPS display? Since ADS improves colors and viewing angles could it be a concealed TN panel? It seems strange to me that an old school IPS panel (not any of the super IPS variants) looks "better" than an ADS-IPS display. Or maybe the new one looks better and I can't figure out which of the 2 is better because I paid more than double for the old IPS one... Sigh, technology is fucking with me
  16. Yes I read that, but I don't think it's the same. PLS is manufactured by Samsung IIRC while Philips along with LG developed the IPS technology, I don't think they have started selling pentented samsung products now.
  17. Hello and happy holidays to everyone. I gifted myself a secondary monitor this christmas, a Philips 247E6 It was cheap, about 120 euro, so I went yolo. I already had a Philips 240P4 which is a more expensive IPS panel and when I set up the secondary monitor i could notice in an instant that (even after calibration) the 247E6 looks colder, with greyer blacks and greener, less saturated colors. The Philips 247E6 is advertised as IPS-ADS technology but I can not find anything about it other than the acronym means ADvanced Super Dimension Switch. Prad.de lists a Terra display with the same technology and a ViewSonic with a ADS technology which is actually another acronym that stands for (Advanced PLS). In a Prad.de article the Terra 2455W is said to have an ADS panel with and IPS technology together. Does it make any sense to you? I have found the patent on the ADS technology manufacturing process but I can't understand what it's written inside of the document, it's way too technical for me. Does anyone know what the technology actually is? Is it an actual IPS panel or something different?
  18. Hm, S.M.A.R.T. info seems alright. I'll upload a picture later. I've found out this SSD uses the sandforce 1200 controller and a lot of people online have had issues with it before. Unfortunately not many people have shared how they fixed the issues, they just shared the fact that the fixed it. Somebody said an updated firmware fixes many issues, and this SSD does not have flashed an updated firmware so I'll flash the latest one and see what happens. Another person said that doing a secure erase fixes the freezing problems, can anyone tell me why such thing would work? I'm trying it today. The person who sold it to me probably thought it was broken, but maybe it can be fixed. Even if it is faulty I did not pay much for it so I'm cool, but if some procedure can fix these issues I'd be much cooler.
  19. Thank you, I will upload a screenshot of the S.M.A.R.T. feedback as soon as I can.
  20. Perhaps you could tell me what diagnostic tools I should use and what to look for, captain.
  21. Hello, I bought an used Corsair F60 that was sold to me for "as new" conditions as I was planning to make my parent's overclocked Core 2 Duo E8500 system become some faster. The previous owner described the SSD as new, replaced by Corsair and "just back from RMA". It arrived to me without packaging or receipt and the previous owner does not respond to me any longer, so I'm on my own. However this SSD gets stuck: suddenly and apparently randomly the hdd led on my case lights up and everything seems frozen. What I did: Received the package Connected SSD to motherboard Boot up with windows 7 installation Quick format and install Windows 7 on SSD Windows update Driver installation How do I diagnose what the problem is? I am sure the rest of the computer is fine. System specs: Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Asus P5Q Deluxe Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 4x1GB DDR2 800MHz MSI HD6850 OC XFX Pro series 550W core
  22. According to the motherboard's manual, there is no code 49. @_@ ftp://europe.asrock.com/manual/Fatal1ty%20Z77%20Professional.pdf I am sorry I didn't include this info in the first post, I ran memtest86 for 24 hours and I got no errors. Rock solid apparently.
  23. Hello, Thank you for the help, but it wouldn't help me, here is why: This issue only happens sometimes, especially the first boot of the day. If I were to shutdown the pc now and start it up again, the issue does not happen. I would have to use for 2 or 3 days the computer with 4GB of RAM, and the issue might not appear. And I need the 16Gb to work.
  24. Hello, I have recently bought some new RAM for my system and I have been experiencing start up failures. When I switch the computer on, sometimes it fails to start for 1 or 2 times and reboots, then resumes normally. When the computer fails to start, the motherboard debug display shows 49 and then reboots. What is this and how can I solve this problem? System: H440 Asrock Z77 Fatal1ty Professional Intel Core i5-3570K (No OC) Mushkin redline ridgeback 4x4GB 2400mhz cl10 (XMP) Zotac GTX 780 OC 1 sata SSD, 2 sata HDD Windows 8.1 hybrid shutdown is disabled.
