  1. Hello! Since the pandemic, we've had online classes and I am sitting in front of my computer for an unhealthy amount of time (12 hours - 16 hours) because of online classes (and studying after hours) and that I also love gaming. Here is a view of my current setup when I'm streaming: Please don't judge I know it's kind of a budgety setup. The brightest sources of light here are the makeshift hanging lamp and the monitor at that brightness. To the camera, it looks like this: It looks good in the stream because it provides enough lighting to my face and also the quality really doesn't bother me much because my facecam is just sitting in a corner somewhere. Here is my setup when I'm just casually gaming. It looks cool in my eyes and I like the aesthetic of it, so that's why I keep it that way. Lately, my vision has not been so good and it's apparent when I try to look at long distance objects which I could see clearly before the pandemic but seems so blurry and unclear now. It is very bad at night where everything seems blurry when I look at the road and in street lights and traffic lights. Is it possible that my lighting is adequate and it's just the increased amount of time in front of the monitor that's damaging my eyes? Or is it because the lighting is very poor and I have been unknowingly damaging my own vision for the past 2 years? If it is about the lighting, to which I know very little about lighting ergonomics, what would you suggest I do? There are some cheap Xiaomi monitor lights that I could buy but I don't know if that would be useful. FYI this room does not have windows as it is in an interior part of the house, and while it does have a room light, it is a very dim warm yellow and I don't like it. I could replace it with a whiter, brighter bulb if I need to. Thanks in advance for your help!
  2. Hi guys. I'm a budget gamer and just this christmas, I've saved up some money and am contemplating upgrading my system: Current Specs: CPU: i7-3770 (non overclockable) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 RAM: 1x8GB HyperX Black and some random 1x4GB stick (salvaged from an old computer) @1333mhz GPU: Zotac GTX 1650 Super 4GB SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB (Probably bottlenecked by my motherboard, reply in comments to confirm this pls.) HDD: Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm PSU: SilverStone Strider Essentials 500w These are really old parts, and I am mainly focused on upgrading the CPU/MOBO/RAM Trio. For ~$265 I can get: - i3-10100f - ASUS Prime H410M-H V3 - HyperX Beast 2x8GB @ 3200mhz Note: The games I mostly play are Dota 2, Valorant, Apex Legends since these are the ones me and my friends play all the time. However, I also like to play singleplayer games, which means I want to play new games and upcoming games (specially Elden Ring). I have previously owned an i3-3220, then to an i5-3470, and now to this i7-3770. I have noticed great FPS difference in games most likely due to Core and Thread counts. Hopefully I can get some clarification with the following questions. Questions: - Would there be a significant difference in performance in A) Game FPS, and B) Overall System performance between the i3-10100f and i7-3770 (AFAIK, they are the main performance determinants of this upgrade)? My main concern with this is that they are both 4 cores 8 threads; any explanation is welcome. - Is the 11th gen Intel i3 coming soon? If so, should I wait for the release? - Is the difference in RAM also noticeable? Aside from the capacity? - Should I just opt for lower speed, budget memory? Since it states that the i3-10100f only supports up to 2666mhz? - Will there be a noticeable difference in my SATA SSD performance upgrading from this old motherboard to the new one? - Is it a good value? Are other options such as an i5-9400f or R5 2600 (still more expensive in my country) better? Should I just stick to my i7-3770? -If I go through with this upgrade, can I opt to upgrade to a 144hz monitor? (In the future) Also, feel free to add more comments and concerns. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you all! EDIT: I would like to add that I can sell my current CPU/MOBO/RAM for $120. Hope that helps in deciding for value.
  3. Hello! I'm currently using a very basic home chair with little to no padding, lumbar support, nor any ergonomic features (literally just a basic chair), and I wanted to upgrade to a good office/gaming chair. Because of that, I revisited LTT's most recent studio tour titled "This Epic Studio Tour Almost Killed Me!" and noticed that a lot of the staff (even Linus) use gaming chairs with the racecar seat type design. It got me kind of curious as to how it feels to use those kinds of chairs for as long as work hours and work days, and how it is in the long term (both the chair and the staff) For anyone also wanting to help me, I am planning to buy a "Rakk Casap Elite" priced at around P7,500.00 or US$150. If you have any suggestions, specially if you're from the Philippines, I would be glad to get some advice!
  4. Hello! I would just like to ask a simple question about compatibility and limitations when buying an SSD for an old motherboard. My current PC uses old parts, and some of them were used or second-hand, so that should say a lot about my budget. I will list the specs here just in case you have other suggestions regarding the PC and to my use of it: - i7-3770 - Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 (Rev 4.0) - 8x1GB and 4x1GB of 1333mhz memory (12GB total) - GTX 1650Super 4GB - Toshiba DT01ACA050 500GB SATA 6.0Gb/s This is the current (and only) storage that I am using: It felt really slow now, like booting it up takes a good 3-4 minutes to get into desktop with everything fully loaded and functional. I am also running out of space for it since I have lots of stuff stored. Because of that, I wanted to upgrade to an SSD because I've heard that SSD > HDD by a lot. I have set my eyes on the Crucial MX500 500GB This SSD is within my budget, and after researching, seems to be one of the best budget but good SSDs. When I was looking at it, I got curious that it said SATA 6gb/s and thought that maybe compatibility might be an issue since the motherboard I have is really old, and that the motherboard also lists that it supports only up to 3Gb/s. My questions are: - Will the SSD be compatible with my Motherboard? (if no, then please disregard the following questions) - Will it be noticeably faster than my HDD? - Will I lose on performance and value because of the limit of my Motherboard? - If the SSD is not compatible, or if there are other suggestions, what are my options? I mainly do gaming, but I also have online classes. I am also into light photo editing and video editing and as well as (maybe) light game development. For now, my budget is restricted to not buying an entirely new PC so these are the parts that I can work with. Thanks in advance for your help!
  5. Without going too much into it, someone else in the household has offered to pay the electricity bills, which is what I meant by me not paying for the costs of electricity. Compared to everything else in the house, I don't think this would make a significant difference.
  6. There's a lot of options here, and some of them are already installed. Which ones should I pick? And are they safe to install?
  7. Hello! I'm very new to mining! I only have a GTX 1650 Super 4GB card from Zotac and I only intended to use this card for gaming. However, recently with the pandemic, I've grown to other types of hobbies, which has ultimately lessened my time for gaming. My PC now has a lot of idle time. When I told this to my friend, he said I should just leave it to mine since it would be giving me small but passive income. It's only been 5 days and I've used NiceHash (because NiceHash QuickMiner wouldn't accept my GPU) and so far I have gained $5. This is fine for me since this is still extra income, and I don't have to worry about costs for electricity because I'm not paying for it. I understand that this is a very weak card for mining, and for most people who have to worry about electricity costs, this is not profitable. However, when I do quick google searches I find pictures like these and I see that there is SUPPOSEDLY more profit on other... platforms? Or IDK what to call it, since I'm very new to mining and have only used NiceHash Source: https://minerstat.com/hardware/nvidia-gtx-1650-super Source: https://www.gpucheck.com/profitability/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-super It seems that on both these sites, it says that I can potentially double my profit per month if I use 1) Ravencoin? - and 2) XZC-MTP (CCMiner)? Can anyone please explain to me: 1.) What that Ravencoin RVN is and how it has a higher Daily Profit than my current setup (~$1.25 vs. $2.76) 2.) What XZC-MTP (CCMiner) is and how it also has a higher Daily Profit than my current setup (~$1.25 vs. $2.70) 3.) If they are truly accurate estimates, how would I go about switching to those platforms? PS: My friend also told me that NiceHash automatically benchmarks and selects the "algorithm" that is most profitable for my setup, and it is currently what I'm running right now on NiceHash. Is this the best option for me?

  9. Hey, guys! I need your opinion on this! I'm getting a new cpu/mobo/ram for my build upgrading from my current i5-3470 and ddr3 memory. I am currently looking at the Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 3 3100, or the i3-1010f. If you're asking why the Ryzen 3 3300x is not here, it's because it's overpriced here in the Philippines (around the same price as a Ryzen 5 3600, and I'm on a budget). My main purpose of this upgrade would be for a budget PC. I already upgraded from a GT 1030 to a GTX 1650 Super and I was aiming for 1080p Med-High on Triple A games (both old and upcoming) and High FPS on competitive games (Playing Apex Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, CS:GO, Warzone on lowest settings to maintain at least 75fps minimum). So far, the GTX 1650 Super has been fine for me I have been playing games I've been missing out. But, I don't want to use this PC exclusively for gaming. I am getting into basic game development, Photoshop, and video editing (currently using Vegas, but might use Filmora or something else? Suggestions please!). So I would want a CPU that would do all of these sufficiently; Photoshop isn't as laggy and/or unresponsive, Vegas preview isn't lag and the rendering time is significantly reduced, and for game developmen just enough for 2D Pixel Art games. Another thing I wanted to do is Stream my gameplay. I tried playing Dota 2 and Valorant and streamed it to Facebook at 720p30 (on Twitch I could 720p60) and my performance was fine (although my settings on these games weren't at maximum). I believe a LARGE part of how I was able to stream is because of the New NVENC encoder on the GTX 1650 Super, reducing much of the CPU load. Nonetheless, I still would want a CPU which could be reliable to stream at 720p60 or 1080p30 at around 4500-6000 bitrate. As for why I'm not choosing the Ryzen 5 3600, it's because I'm on a budget. For either of the Ryzen CPU choices (2600 or 3100) I would only be using an A320M motherboard (since I don't need fancy features) and also some of them have M.2 SSD support. I plan on getting a 16GB dual kit memory of 3000mhz or 3200mhz because I heard that Ryzen benefits a lot from that not only in FPS but also in overall performance. As for why the i3-10105f is here, I saw that it was a recent competitor to the Ryzen 3 3100 at a slightly lower price and had slightly higher performance, but given that it's Intel, it would probably not be as fast in multicore workloads. You might be wondering why I'm not just immediately choosing the Ryzen 5 2600, it's because I was able to stream with this old quadcore i5-3470 Dota 2 and Valorant finely with good fps. I was thinking maybe it isn't really necessary to have 6c/12t for streaming and all the previous uses I said, and save around $40-$50 Lastly, these are the prices for my upgrade path: Total Budget: $300 Motherboard: $52 Memory: $94 Budget for CPU: ~$150 Ryzen 5 2600: $165 (A little overbudget) Ryzen 3 3100: $120 Intel i3-10105f: No price yet here in the PH, should I wait for this? Thanks in advance to all of you who try to help me with this!
  10. I have everything on lowest or disabled, the GPU is only at 30%-40% which makes sense but the CPU is still 100% throughout the game with microstutters.
  11. Yes it is bottlenecking but it at least reached and even surpassed the minimum required CPU, so I don't get why it can't let me play smoothly. As for the microstutters, I literally don't gave anything else open it's just battlenet and Warzone, so idk how that's happening. They are running dual channel, both on 1333mhz, and idk about the timings. I only have an hdd. I didn't bother with the drivers because the GPU usage is fine it's the CPU that's going 100% but not able to deliver 60 stable
  12. Hey, guys! I'm on a really tight budget, and so I had the choice to upgrade either the CPU or GPU, and I chose to upgrade my 1050 2GB to this Zotac GTX 1650 Super 4GB. It's been great! I've mostly been able to play games that I wasn't able to before with the 1050 (Mafia Definitive Edition, Vampyr, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Little Hope, and etc.). Now, my friends have been wanting me to play Warzone since it came out and I was so excited to try it out with them. The recommended specifications call for "i5-2500k" and "GTX 970." When I tried it out, even when loading the game, it just jumps to 100% CPU usage right off the bat, while the GPU is just sub-20%. I'm okay with playing at medium settings or even lowest setting just as long as I can play it at 60fps, hopefully 75fps (my monitor is 75hz). But the game can't even run properly, it averages 50fps and dips as low as 30fps with the worst being random 3-4 second stutters. I've downloaded the most recent drivers for the card since I've only bought it last December 25, 2020. The game is also up-to-date with the season, so IDK what is happening. I really don't want to play at the highest settings, with 240fps, all I'm asking for is 75fps on low to med at 1080p. The CPU usage is consistently 100% throughout the entire game, whether it's in the main menu or in-game, and I'm baffled as to why it surpasses even that of the minimum listed CPU but can't handle that. Also, before I bought the card, I looked at benchmarks on Youtube, specifically this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXNt5rAP3Lk&t=131s In this video, even in the most populated areas in the map he can get around 60-70fps on average with the i5-3470 and 1650 Super, so why can't I get the same? Full Specs: i5-3470 Zotac GTX 1650 Super 12GB of 1333mhz RAM (8GB and 4GB stick) 1TB 7200rpm HDD 500W SilverStone Strider Essential
  13. Here's a sample pic of Apex Legends at 1080p on lowest. Would it matter if I upgrade to an RX 570 if both the CPU and GPU are maxing out?
  14. In most of the heavy games (Control and Little Hope) I've played, the CPU usage would be from 50% - 60%. Would the 580 fit this fine?
  15. Well, for now, me and my brother are sharing the PC. I've saved enough to buy a new PC this Christmas (R5 3600 with 1660Super bcs of budget), so I wanted to give this to my brother but not leave it like it is, he plays a lot of games too. Btw, should I consider getting a used rx 580? I heard they (and the 570) were used extensively for mining, but the new 580s still cost $200 here and the used ones sell for half.
