Yeah I saw that the bidding ended the other day.
Far too expensive for me to have even considered bidding.
I hope whomever has bought it can extract the Larrabee Customizable Video BIOS. I'd love to have a copy, both for archival purposes and for seeing if I can flash it to one of my KNF cards

Yeah, never really finished. 
Personally I have a HD 5870 engineering sample. Was used for power validation by an OEM. Digging through its BIOS and finding the extra sensors wired up on each VRM phase, and the current measure of the VDDCI, was incredibly cool. Engineering samples are insane, aren't they... 

yes, there's at least one other known in the wild.  it's in Russia

Pretty sure that's not the only working one out there like the ebay desc says. 
One of few, yes, but I have some ES GPUs and they aren't only 1 ever made.

Just collecting them due to some of the following reasons (in my humble opinion):
 
1) most aesthetically appealing card of all time (green shroud)

2) infamous / history / hype / height of enthusiasm and discussion ... so much so it was covered with a full spread cover model

3) rarity

I received the Larrabee (Revision 2) BIOS and my Revision 1 (same revision as Linus) is now detected as a Coprocessor, but installing the MPSS drivers yields system reboot.

Previously my card had no BIOS chip:


 
Now with BIOS from Revision 2 card:

There's no way this is a KNC that was never intended to be a videocard, the PCB clearly states Larrabee and also "GPU".   Linus is dead wrong in calling this a KNC.

So I guess it is possible to make it work.

The larrabee accelerator card must be supported by BIOS, same as xeon phi accelerator card, if the BIOS does not support it. The computer will not be started up, so I suggest you finding the same period of C602 motherboard or dual way cpu LGA1366 workstation motherboard and try to use it..all in all,this card is really a PC with a Linux built in.
and then, Linus said this card belongs to knights Corner, and he said it is the same as the 1st gen PCIE Xeon 3/5/7th accelerator card that Tianhe2 uesd. so you d better consider using E5 2600V2/V1 series CPU with double ways C602 server motherboard. I think this motherboard should be usable..  if you can't find drive. Consider using the xeon phi accelerator card drive. it seems like no Windows drive, but the 2rd gen Xeon Phi LGA3467 can Install on Windows,or you use linux.(I,I am sorry for my poor English.)

probably going to catch a lot of flack for this, but LTT seems to have underhandedly received this from an eBay Auction.   The winner of the actual auction in good faith was Red Falcon.    He was lied to by the seller saying that Intel Lawyers stepped in, and I was told "it's in good hands"
