  1. Hi, I've almost finished a new build, just waiting for my RX580 to arrive in 1-2 days. I have an old NVIDIA card laying around, and I'm eager and itching to use it to install the os and try out my new build. Will I need to do another clean os install after I replace the old card with the new one? I know replacing without reinstalling the os should work without a problem, but can it cause some conflicts or small issues in the future? What do you think? Am I just being OCD about it?
  2. I am just building my pc and when I removed the heat sink from the m2 slot on my brand new ROG STRIX z370-e to slot the nvme I found a black cube glued to the board. The cube (see attached pic) is blocking me from installing an nvme to that m2 slot. No where in the manual or other spec did I find any explantion about this cube. I’m super tempted to just yank it out assuming it’s some kind of a packing material, but I’m also concerned that I’m missing something and will break the board. Please advise.
  3. Hello all. I bought my main build components (8700K CPU, mainboard, memory, GFX) abroad and in 3 weeks I will be flying back to home, where I intend to fully build the system (where I have the intended case, PSU and CPU fan). I want to test the components out as early as possible so I can return them if faulty, but I don't want to fully build the system abroad. I have access to a test PSU and an old CPU fan for a different socket. Do I face a significant risk to by testing out the CPU with an incompatible fan and no thermal paste? My plan is to jerry-rig the fan to the CPU and run the system for 3-4 minutes, just to ensure it POSTS. Looking forward to seeing your opinions and ideas.
  4. Hello people. I would appreciate your opinion on this build: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/dekadancer/saved/#view=KJxTHx I'm building a photoshop heavy workstation for my wife. She is only using Photoshop, but using it intensely: several 3GB+ files at once, 3 monitors + Wacom. Unfourtnetly, no gaming will be done on this computer. The ram and the HHD (not the SSD) are a given as I already own them. What do you say?
