  1. Right on, thank you all for your replies! Perhaps I misread something in regards to claims of gaming temps under 50c. Either way, thank you all for putting my mind at ease.
  2. Greetings, I've recently upgraded to a 9900k, and I'm finding that, while gaming, my temps can sometimes sit at anywhere between 60c-70c in certain games. My idle temps are somewhere around 35c, and my ambient temps are 28c. Is this problematic at all? I've read other testimonies stating that they never exceed 50c while gaming, so I was a bit surprised. The games that I do primarily play are MMOs, which are generally more CPU intensive. Could this be part of it? I haven't overclocked at all, having only enabled XMP. I have tried re-mounting my heatsink, which didn't seem to make any difference, and I've also installed an additional case fan. Air flow shouldn't be a problem; my previous CPU seemed to run cooler overall, I'd say. my specs are: CPU: i9 9900k Cooler: Noctua NH-D15s GPU: RTX 2060 Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Maybe my chip just runs a bit hotter than others? Any thoughts or feedback would be much appreciated, thank you.
  3. Greetings, I recently installed this board and I've noticed a few minor issues that I didn't experience with my previous mobo. After waking from sleep, any sort of audio will be accompanied by a sort of crackling or popping sound. In addition, I notice my HWmonitor readings go way out of whack and display almost 5 times as many readings as it normally would. (With most being duplicates, based on the numbers). Both of these odd problems only occur after resuming from sleep. If I restart or perform a cold boot, the issues are not present. As such, I figure this is most likely a software bug rather than a hardware defect, right? Does anyone else with this board experience such odd behavior? Would a bios update potentially fix this, or should I look at picking up a soundcard? -[Build]- Asus Prime Z270-A i7 6700k Skylake G.Skill 2400 DDR4 16GB ram EVGA 750w Supernova PSU
  4. Hey folks, I'm currently troubleshooting some nvlddmkm errors that I've been getting recently, and I'm wondering if it might have something to do with my RAM? My CPU is overclocked and my RAM set to XMP profile. CPU: i7 6700k @ 4.5ghz - 1.265 Vcore. MOBO: Asus PRIME Z270-A RAM: G.Skill 2x 16GB 2400mhz @ 1.200v XMP. PSU: EVGA G2 750w GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW I have read that nvlddmkm driver crashing errors can be related to RAM, and so I decided to check things out in my BIOS. One thing I noticed was that the DRAM voltage appears to fluctuate between 1.184 and 1.200. Is this anything that I should be concerned about? Or is this normal behavior, and I should look elsewhere?
  5. Hey all, I noticed that the backside my Asus VG248QE tends to produce a rather strong static electrical field after being powered on for several hours. If you simply brush your arms against the plastic back or sides of the monitor, you can really feel the pull on your hairs. This monitor is only a few days old, and the backside was caked with dust in a pattern similar to this effect: I was wondering if this is normal behavior for this monitor, or for monitors in general? I was a bit concerned since static electricity is harmful for PC components, but is this nothing to worry about?
