  9. I would go with what spiral said and also say get more ram in the future and if your rendering is a bit slow use the utility in photoshop to direct more resources to your cpu or do a quick and dirty 10% oc
  10. are we talking ddr3 ddr4 if its ddr3 then you should add at least another 4gig stick and f4 is not a bios version its just the keystroke
  11. John have you looked into the prime x299 deluxe that will accept the Asus vroc card that could be a total of 6 m.2 ssds just on the board alone add that to however many ssds your case can handle would probably be enough for any mom and pop streamer/content creator maybe overkill for you but an option
  12. So LTT cpu community, should I buy an i7 7820 after Christmas or wait until February when I know I will have enough for the i9 case uses: video editing ( premiere DaVinci resolve after effects) ///according to Puget system multiple radeons are a better set up for Davinci I know/// live streaming gaming photo editing (lightroom and photoshop) lite rendering (opposed to light rendering :p) and all else cheers BigJohn
  13. I am installing 4 new drives on a new rig and need to know the procedure to get my rig to recognize them its been a long time since I have done this and forgot, besides it probably different in win 10 than win 7 the last time I did one
  14. thanks, guys I am still flip-flopping on whether or not to put it in it's only for the RGB that I bought it for, that and it was on sale for 99 bucks from 179 sometimes 1 click buy can be dangerous
  15. Ok, in theory i can just swap my EVGA 850W GQ 80 Plus Gold Power Supply for a Thermaltake 850 gold RGB but do I need to find a header for the RGB I haven't as of yet opened the box so I don't know if there is a 4 pin for the RGB BUT I am assuming there will be, i have the prime x299deluxe so I don't anticipate there being a lack of RGB headers
  16. yeah resolve is a hungry beast but I just use the free version and I have a few months before I really need to upgrade thanks again for the info guess i should have checked myself
  17. well after doing some research myself I just bought 2 of the logitechs for streaming
  18. OK, thanks that were my original line of thinking but then watched some videos and some benchmarks and was beginning to think the 7820 was also a bit underpowered. thanks for the advice that will save me more money for RGB and hardline
  19. after reaching the conclusion that I may have bought an underpowered CPU for my new machine (I DO have a 1080 GPU) I have a 7740x and was wondering #1 should I drop the 2grand I plan on dropping on an i9 or drop it on the new zen and threadripper as I plan on using this rig for editing and heavy gaming, also will the OC to 5.0 on the 7740 I have to be enough for now, as I am doing more gaming and streaming than editing right now, I am a blue fanboy just for the reason that I am old enough to remember when AMD cpu,s were melting boards. but it seems that they aren't running hot plus water cooling so I guess its a non issue
