Mr Technician got a reaction from Capt._Jack in Disk in task manager upgrade?
Get an SSD, otherwise there really is no solution, though disabling some things as @Adorable Cat said would help.

Mr Technician got a reaction from paddy-stone in DNS Switch. I need more DNS
Why do DNS queries need to be sent to your servers if you already have a pihole? Could you explain your network better, please?

I would recommend starting over with a clean installation of windows on the ssd.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Zando_ in AMD Radeon VII desktop background
Does it now? I'll have to try that in a VM I guess.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Inv3rtebrate in rtx 2060 or rtx 2070
The RTX 2060 is definitely the better value. What resolution and framerate are you trying to achieve?

Mr Technician got a reaction from Sashgnarg in What does this button do on our modem?
It looks like a WPS button, which allows you to connect devices without putting in the password for 30 seconds or so after you press it.

Mr Technician got a reaction from OneTwoMark in Help - Display not working and motherboard debug light is on
That's why I asked where the video cables were connected. I'm glad it's all working now!
Edit: I think the gpu power cables were part of the issue too, though.

Mr Technician got a reaction from DrMacintosh in Computer for grandparents
They don't have a good place for a desktop and I see them using it at their kitchen table, so definitely a laptop. And yes, windows 10 isn't super friendly but I've never used macos myself, and mac minis start at $800...

Mr Technician got a reaction from Phred_2468 in HDD Vibration
It's quite possibly a normal operation sound, then. No problem!

Mr Technician got a reaction from Mr. Nipsi in Do i need a power supply with higher wattage
650w will be plenty. EVGA gold is quite good.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Kinder in Why can I not play 4k/60 videos?
He said he has a 7th gen i5 which is certainly new enough.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Naman Malik in What happens to extra pixels of photos
High resolutions mean the analog image is better represented by digital pixels. Remember, light isn't limited to square pixels, so the more pixels you have, the more data is preserved. Those very high resolution images are then digitally downscaled for viewing on screens that may be only 1080p, which looks far better than viewing an image of a resolution that matches the screen.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Spotty in Nvidia did an oopsie
Perhaps it was on purpose for the sake of that render. It'd look silly to have an upside down logo on a professional render, even if it's technically correct.

Mr Technician reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Nvidia did an oopsie
In the end, does it matter? Maybe someone at marketing photoshopped it to make it more presentable because that's their job.

Mr Technician reacted to Sat1600 in "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly"
I have seen this question come up a lot recently regarding the error "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly" So I decided to make a PSA.
Most of the rx 470s, 570s 480s, and 580s on ebay have been used for mining. The Vbios is often flashed for mining. The AMD software will not work properly with a modded bios.
Many sellers are upfront about this. They will usually state that the stock bios will be reflashed before shipping.
I love mining cards. They are usually well taken care of and quite a bargain.
However, if you buy a rx card from ebay, message the seller and make sure they ship the card with the stock bios.
If you already recieved a card with a mining bios, all is not lost. Email the manufacturer. Most are happy to send you the correct bios.
If your card has a dual bios, try the card with the other bios and see if it works. There is usually a switch near the power connector.
Do not download a random bios. The same model card with the same model number may need a different bios depending on the vram manufacturer.
If all else fails you can open a ticket with ebay.
Hope this helps

Mr Technician got a reaction from Mad153 in Adjusting Sharpness with DisplayPort
I'm a bit confused. How can the refresh rate impact the sharpness? It sounds like your dizzyness could be related to something with motion blur.

Mr Technician got a reaction from XR6 in INTERNET This is a literal joke. Pay for 40mbps getting 11mbps download on test!!!! WTAF?
Have you tried a wired connection? It's probably your isp but it's further evidence of poor performance when you call them.

Mr Technician got a reaction from Speedbird in A backup system I'm thinking of, looking for your thoughts
You may be able to sync between Google Photos/Drive and OneDrive with IFTTT though I'm not positive.
That depends. RAID 1 isn't a backup but it is still better than nothing. If you really don't want to lose your data, have a backup as well. If it's just for backing up a system I'd say RAID 1 is fine though, whereas you'd want an additional backup for pictures and such if you weren't already using cloud storage for them.
Is your server cloud hosted? A local box is probably simpler for what you are trying to do.
