So I finally drank coffee for the first time four hours ago and unlike the synthetic caffeine I used to take, I have been awake since then.. Dangit. I feel so alert and awake.. It's past midnight already.

While synthetic caffeine take faster to kick in, it doest last long, around 2-3 hour and it starting to diminish, natural is the opposite..

I regret this.

Maybe because I never consume caffeine or very rarely aside from the energy drink that I take probably 1 times a year at some special occasions.

And I iam just starting to take caffeine tablet 1 and a half Month ago.. And it was synthetic.

Luckily I have l theanine lying around.

i've had a cafeine addiction for so long i don't even notice coffee anymore... i need to drink 2 to 3 energy drinks per day to stay awake...

@firelighter487 your brain is building up tolerance or I should say adjusting to your caffeine intake, its starting to create more adenosine receptor in which play role on signaling your brain to make your body feels tired because it need to rest.

Therefore more caffeine is needed to fill those adenosine receptor.

Stop taking it for 1-3 week, but you will experience headache or depression, because your brain is readjusting itself. But after that you will be fine.

Unlike nicotine, caffeine isn't addictive because it doesn't create any long lasting changes in the brain nor does it have any serious side effect even if you keep on taking it.

So just stop for a while and if you feel depressed take some theanine which is a natural compound derived from green tea that can promote relaxation, relieving stress while improving focus. It is safe No serious side effect even on large dose or continuous usage.

Also stop taking energy drink, its overwhelmed with sugar and we know excessive sugar is bad.

Buy some natural caffeine powder instead, don't exceed 400mg per day and if you feel anxious you probably took it too much or take l theanine if you still feel anxious even after lowering the dose to alleviate the anxiety.

@firelighter487Reducing won't do you any good as your brain needs more caffeine for you to feel the effect, it will take longer for your brain to readjust if you do that rather than stop on taking it.

But is your choice, If you ask me I will stop on taking it and when I need to take it I will take Phenlypiracetam instead as a temporary alternative.
