  1. It was front IO connectors. Had a friend come over and help. Not sure how they got switched though. Thank you all though
  2. I finally finished my build, booted it multiple times. Twice after installing everything and setup. Then I go to switch GPU power cords and put on side panels. I do that and go to power it on, the mother board lights up, but as soon as I push the power button, nothing happens, no display on monitor. Says no dvi connection. So I remove side panels, and check GPU cords, fine. Won't boot. Replace cord I swapped, no boot. Checked dvid ports on PC and monitor, no boot. Check power connections, no boot. Check every single connection in my build twice, no boot I have been working on this thing for almost 12 hrs. Please help. My build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/orx24/saved/dnFPsY
  3. So after browsing through all the helpful advice and suggestions, I've decide to go with the p400 https://m.newegg.com/products/11-854-046?iscoz=true Thank you everyone for your help
  4. I will have to check these all out tomorrow because it's a bit late tonight, but I thank you for this and will let you know what i think. Also with regard to the fan minimum requirement, ignore that, I didn't mean to put that in and it isn't really relevant.
  5. Hi, So I have been planning a build for awhile now, and have finally started getting the money together and buying parts. I ran into a problem today when I was looking at reviews for the case I was planning on getting, the https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V5DA7554&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= A few people mentioned problems on other sites reviews of the glass not fitting quite right and letting dust in and some screws and fittings not being put in right, leading me to start looking into other cases only to realize that I need to start looking at other specs for those cases too. I am super overwhelmed by all the specs and am only really certain of what I want/need. So I was hoping some people could make some recommendations based on those. To start off, my Motherboard is an Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813119033&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= So I would like the front I/O to be able to take advantage of some of the newer USB 3.1s if possible, but this is not required. My main requirements is that it 1. Support at least ATX Motherboard 2. Be solid black. 3. Tempered glass side panel, on only one side though. 4. Have support for max length graphics cards, should I choose one that is long. (Still deciding on it so it needs to be flexible) 5. Have a PSU Shroud. 6. IF it comes with pre-installed fans,(Minimum 2) They either have to have no lighting or RGB. (No LEDs of solid color.) 7. Be wide enough to support this CPU cooler. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V4H84953&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= 8. And cost no more than $150 USD. (Though if possible please around $100 USD) So that's pretty much it, the motherboard is already bought so that isn't changeable just an FYI. I would really appreciate all the help I can get, Thanks, Orx24
  6. So I know it is enough for it, but would it be bottlenecking the 1070? Because to be honest I was originally going with a 1060 but wanted to take advantage of my monitors refresh rate plus better game performance obviously.
  7. I will look into it, also I will be getting the monitor tomorrow not RAM because it is on sale for $110 off! Unless the sale ends tomorrow, which it doesn't say, then I will go with the RAM as planned. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/orx24/saved/hkCZ8d
  8. So I actually took some of the parts of yours and merged it with mine. The GPU, case, mouse, keyboard, RAM, PSU. And it is 3 bucks cheaper lol. This also avoids the problem of the Motherboard only being that price for 6 hours being that I stuck with the one I had. There is still the problem of the GPU not being in stock, but to be honest I might just be able to pay a bit extra for a different model if down the road it is still out of stock. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VC6B8K I am planning to buy the RAM tomorrow because that's when my paycheck comes in and that's when the sales on RAM end, so thanks for the suggestion on RAM that will save me $20 extra on top of the $38. I think I will go with this new merged build, it seems to have no compatablitiy issues and the pricing on everything but the RAM will stay the same. But I may change the GPU down the line if that one is still out of stock then. Also the K95 is on sale right now and if I have enough in my paycheck I may get it just because i really want the full RGB keyboard though maybe not I will have to see tommorrow. I will keep you updated. Thanks a lot for the help.
  9. This actually looks great thank you. Rubber grommets, though I wanted the black case not the red with black, same monitor, 1070. The problem is the motherboard, it is only on sale for 7 hours after that the price goes to $179, $159 with the rebate. The Graphics card for that price is currently out of stock which isn't necessarily a problem yet. Power supply is good, Monitor is the same, keyboard and mouse seem solid. SO the only problem is the Motherboard and the GPU.
  10. So with the SSDs you listed, both were more expensive than the SanDisk. The seasonic S12G while being cheaper, is non modular. The EVGA G3 were more expensive even with the rebate with less wattage. Now the Seasonic focus plus and the Rosewill quark do have cheaper options with comparable wattage with a rebate, as well as being fully modular. So I may choose from one of them. The problem being that I still have to front up MORE cash first before I get the savings, which isn't optimal. But I will consider it if it really helps me to fit in a 1070. And If I buy the parts with rebates first then I could get the savings before I buy the other parts, as opposed to buying most of it at once, causing me to need more cash. The rosewill is actually on a limited sale right now, when it goes off it will be more expensicve even with the rebate and I dont have the cash right now to front that, because I am buying the RAM. So I think I am going with the Seasonice Focus Plus. Thanks for that help that will knock like $10-14 off total after rebates which is good. Will bring me too like $50 total in savings.
  11. I honestly want the higher refresh rate though. Though I may try for the 1070 now
  12. Well if you could recommend some good ones I would be happy to take a look. Personally the peripherals are what are giving me the most trouble. I want a 144hz, 24 inch 1080p monitor. For the keyboard I would prefer Cherry MX Red with a good wrist rest. and for Mouse... I have no idea really. It seems like everyone I talk to and every video I watch is pushing me towards a 1070, which I want, but I really don't want to spend the extra $150. I will look into the SSD and maybe if I can find cheaper options for peripherals with the $38 I save on RAM maybe all that savings together could get me the 1070. Thanks for the advice.
  13. Hi So I have spent the last few months learning about PC parts in the hopes of building my own PC. While I am obviously no expert, I do feel I have enough decent knowledge now on different parts and a little in building, to finally start it. I just finished the overall build, with the only things subject to change are the peripherals. (Keyboard and mouse being decent place holders but a bit expensive. Monitor could also change depending on sales.) When researching my build I consulted friends, forums, and Youtube videos (Mainly Linus Tech Tips and Tech Quicke, but some others as well when needed) I ran into common misconceptions and down right lies about a few things, but overall I feel it was worth it and am glad I took the time to learn this stuff, though there is still a lot to know. So with that out of the way let me actually talk about my build. My budget was $1000 for the PC itself (Not including OS. Though I went over by $40 or so) and about $500 for peripherals. My total $1520.75 (Based on PC Part Picker (Prices may vary. I am buying the RAM for $38 on sale so originally it would be higher) This price also doesn't include RGB strips or mousepad. So to start off I am going with an Intel Core I5-8400. I chose Intel because of higher quality, based on quite a few people I know swearing by it as well as internet suggestions. I chose the I5-8400 based on it being "A six-core processor on a budget" It offering good price to performance and the only cheaper option for a 6 core processor. For the Motherboard I am going with the MSI Z370 Pro ATX. One of the only few that are compatible with 8th Gen CPUs, as well as the cheapest. For RAM I am going with G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200. I was going to go with a slower speed to save some money, but when they went on sale it would only be a savings of around $10-$20, so I opted for the higher speed. For Storage I am going with SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB. Not sure if I have to justify this one... uhhh... Cheap? Planning to play games so choose 240GB instead of 120GB. As well as a Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive. (Also may change based on sales or price drops) For my Graphics Card I chose the EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming Card. Didn't want to spring for the 1070 because it's $150 more, but I could always upgraded in future. Also the reason for the model is pricing. For my case I chose the Be Quiet! Pure Base 600 W/ window Black ATX Mid Tower Case. Design is decent, build quality is too. Rubber grommet-ed holes for better cable management, and I wanted a tempered glass window. For my Power Supply I am going with an EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply. Again not sure I need to justify this but I wanted a fully modular one that met my power needs and was decently priced. For the Monitor I am going with the Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor. For Price, refresh rate, screen size, and highly reviewed. Now the keyboard and mouse may change, I am not heart set on them, they are more or less place holders, but I may get them if I can't find any others I like for cheaper. If you want to see them, look for the link below. So that's pretty much it, I mean there is Windows 10, RGB light strips from Cablemodz, and shipping costs. I expect it come out to about $1600 total, give or take $50 or so. I'm not 100% sure why I am making this post, I am sure I will get messages like "Go AMD" ," Pony up for a 1070", "Man I can think of a way better blah blah blah" And to be honest I have probably considered most of them, but decided against it. Now that's not to say I know everything or that I don't want constructive comments, as long as they are objective and nice. But I really don't plan on changing any part of this build (Aside from what I have already mentioned may change) In fact, I am buying the RAM tomorrow since it is on sale. So unless I have made some huge mistake, which I don't think I have, I probably wont change anything. That being said, I am new to this and would welcome the advice. If you want to see the list in an easier format, here https://pcpartpicker.com/user/orx24/saved/#view=dnFPsY Thanks to anyone who reads or comments, Happy Thanksgiving, Evan
