The main use for this PC is for every day browsing and gaming. This will be a future-proof build of at least 5 years with no upgrades. I prefer to play games at a consistent 1440p-144Hz rate on an IPS monitor. There will be NO OVERCLOCKING. I would really like to cut the cost of this PC without interfering with the performance of the machine much. My main use for the PC is internet browsing, tv shows/movies, Youtube, and gaming. Games I will play are Battlefield, Rainbow Six, The Witcher III, Fallout 4, PUBG, GTA V, etc. Mainly AAA titles with a bit of graphic intensity. Thanks for any suggestions. Feel free to change whatever part that will suit my needs. I am not too knowledgeable with what works best, so I thought I would seek some help here. Thank you. Details Roundup: None/Minimum Overclocking Use for everyday web-browsing, Youtube/Movies, gaming. Minor video editing for Youtube, no streaming, no media/image creating. Fan of games like Battlefield, PUBG, Witcher, GTA, Nier, Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, etc. Want consistent 1440p-144Hz for at least 5 years Monitor, RAM, and MOBO are the parts I am still not sure about Prefer IPS over TN panels

$3000CAD 1440p-144Hz Gaming PC!
LinuxTechTits replied to LinuxTechTits's topic in New Builds and Planning
Thanks, I thought that was an IPS monitor. The thing is I want a card that will be able to play consistent 1440p-144Hz on most AAA games with High/Ultra for at least 5 years. I'm going for the Ti just to future-proof it. But I'm not going to be overclocking, would you think a 1080 would be a good card for this build? Or would a Ti make it more useful? -

Thanks for your reply! I kind of want to wait but I kind want to build one before Christmas. I'll see my options. I am also considering to go with just the 8700 non-K. I'm only going to use the computer for every day web browsing and gaming (Battefield, Witcher III, Nier, Dark Souls, and future AAA titles with some graphic intensity). -

Thanks, I'm not too knowledgeable on how parts perform and balance each other. I will adjust my build again. Thanks for your recommendations. Just a question, would the 550W PSU be good for future-proof? As I said before, I'm not going to upgrade anytime after 4-5 years. -

Thanks guys, I tweaked my parts. Right now it's $3.2k, I will wait patiently for a month or two before I pull the trigger. $3000CAD 1440p-144Hz Gaming PC!

The reason I want to go with the i7-7700k is because I think it would be better for the future, as I'm not going to upgrade for at least 4-5 years. Would youguys think the i5-8600 can outperform the i7-7700k for that long? Also, thanks for your recommendations. I will change the MOBO and PSU. It turns out a 650W would be fine for this build. -
Hey folks! I'm looking to build a $3000 CAD Gaming PC that will at least consistently run 1440p-144Hz on games for at least 4 or 5 years without upgrading. I am also looking to include an IPS monitor in my budget. What kind of tweaks would you make for this build? The cheaper the better! I'm not looking to upgrade any time within 5 years. Also, I'm also not a big OC'er, so I probably won't OC my GPU. I know there is some wasted performance parts on this build, so I appreciate any help you guys can give me for lowering the cost! Thanks a lot for any insights!

Hey folks! I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for a build and peripherals. I'm looking to spend roughly $2500-$3000 which will include everything except for mouse and keyboard. For the monitor, I will want an IPS. I’m having trouble getting a gaming build that will run well with an IPS monitor. I know for a $3000 budget, it's enough to play 4k at a bare minimum. However, I'm not going to upgrade my PC for at least a couple years so I don't want to be stuck playing at 4K at the bare minimum for a few years. Thus, what do you think I should stick with for this budget? Will 2K gaming on an IPS monitor be the best option for the future? I will be playing a lot of next-gen graphic intense games. However, I'm not going to be OC'ing much. Also, I have an MSI service center very close to me, so I think I will have that as my GPU. I would greatly appreciate recommended builds or just some comments on my insight. Thank you.
