From my limited phone knowledge, the Motorola Moto G7 Play is probably about the best you'll get in that price range. Phones are unfortunately very expensive nowadays...

    (assuming $150-200 USD)

As we all know, the only thing that matters is the wattage. Doesn't matter which PSU model they get, just that the wattage is sufficient... Also, PCPP, just like all other pSu CaLcUlAtOrS, overestimates the wattage, by using random numbers with no basis in reality.
The 80+ rating says nothing about how good a PSU is. E.g. the 80+ Bronze rated EVGA B2 is much better than the 80+ Gold rated EVGA G1 NEX.
Consider the Formula 450W for £70 or the Whisper M 550W for £83. Both are quiet, perform well, and have multi rail OCP.

So essentially, look for 400W+ power supply. Ideally look for something 80+ Gold certified if you can fit it in your budget.

I would recommend looking into undervolting your GPU through a program like MSI Afterburner. You might be able to reduce temperatures by putting less voltage through the card, while maintaining clock speeds.

This is probably your issue. Most system integrators use well-known brands for things like CPU & GPU, but skimp out on other parts (like RAM, just like in your experience, and motherboards and power supplies, as stated above)

NDBroughton reacted to SnowyMus in Motherboard supports ram speed up to 2666 but it wont go past 2400.
It's possible that it may be due to the fact that the Intel Core i3-8100 only supports up to 2400 MHz. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/126688/intel-core-i3-8100-processor-6m-cache-3-60-ghz.html

If so, you'd need a Z370 or Z390 board to overclock to 2666 MHz or a CPU that supports 2666 MHz such as the Intel Core i7-8700K.

NDBroughton got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in China & Huawei propose reinvention of the internet
    Summary:
Huawei, along with the state-run companies China Unicom and China Telecom, and China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together proposed a new standard for networking technology, called "New IP", at the UN's International Telecommunication Union. The proposal claims to enable cutting-edge technologies, but has caused concern among western countries, such as the UK, Sweden, and the US, who believe that the system would give state-run ISPs granular control over the citizens' internet use. However, it has gained the support of some countries, such as Russia, and potentially Saudi Arabia, according to representatives at the ITU.

If this new standard can do what it claims, it would certainly be an interesting thing to explore, but on the other hand, I question the risk for implications on security and human rights because of the top-down control it could have. It will be interesting to see how this continues, and as more countries voice their thoughts about the new standard. What are your thoughts about a new networking standard?

That only applies to when you're playing steam games. And he's talking about a reduced download rate, not it completely stopping, as that setting would cause it to do...

This is likely the issue, and your router is just prioritizing this over your download, causing it to be a bit slower.
  22. Agree
NDBroughton reacted to ImAlsoRan in Fast internet - but only to 1 app
Your game my also be sending priority packets, which notify the router that the packets it's sending are important. I think it's called POL (Priority over LAN)

NDBroughton reacted to Beerzerker in China & Huawei propose reinvention of the internet
I'll address each point by the numbers.

1: That is the problem here - You know like everyone else does China isn't exactly a "Friendly" place to be and such regimes act accordingly to their core values. All that includes all the historically proven as fact over time nefarious stuff they do to suit their own end(s).
Nothing any of us can do about that except be aware of it and realize it for what it truly is.

    2: With all due respect:
I can't believe I'm actually seeing this - In the way it's posted you actually sound like a Communist/Chinese sympathiser with this statement.
No, it's based on years of factually proven actions the current regime has taken against others and even it's own that adds up to the sum of "You just can't trust them".

Saying the West is making assumptions just because they are the West is in itself proves nothing to that end.

    To be fair:
The West itself isn't innocent by any measure, I'll never claim that but to say it's all based on suspicion and nothing else, well, that's just foolish. There are reasons for everything, including such suspicion whether you believe it well founded or not and to be fair yet again, that goes for both sides, not just the one.

3: I have to agree with this - No sense in placing a total twit in charge of trying to decide things about it if they don't even understand it themselves.

4: I can see that being just so, Apple has always been "Touchy" about it's stuff like Sony is for example and you know how jealous Sony can be about things.

    In short:
I have suspicions about it myself and the real intent behind it.
Even if it's intent for now is honest that doesn't mean at some point it can't be twisted into something it was never meant to be and far worse than it's being described as now.
Tech meant for peaceful means eventually being used as a weapon.....

Just remember good old human nature is always the driving force behind who does what for whatever reason(s) and that's a universal thing all are subject to with none immune.
You best believe it's happened before because it has and will again, whether it's over this or something else.

NDBroughton reacted to straight_stewie in China & Huawei propose reinvention of the internet
That's not quite accurate. You can absolutely hide things in plain sight. Things can have hidden implications.

Regardless: Yes, the fundamental underpinnings of the internet could probably be improved.

However, basically every government has already proven that it cannot handle the responsibility of having access to critical internet infrastructure without abusing that responsibility. So rebuilding the entirety of the internet based solely on any governments ideas on how it should work is probably a mistake in terms of privacy, freedom, and avoiding oppression.
