  2. My friend is currently having problems with his PC. He's running windows 7 on a desktop computer. He has an i5-4670k and a gtx 660, the CPU usage is extremely high, fluctuates from 50% to 100%. What PC part should I upgrade, he wants to get something in the $200 CAD range. Another side question is, can I use a USB to get free windows 10 upgraded onto his computer or does he need to buy a disk. He has no important files so he is fine with a clean wipe.
  3. The SSD does show up in the bios. I think the cables are good. I didn't get the wrong cables. The HDD did the same thing.
  4. So, I just got cablemod cables and I replaced my SATA power cables but it didn't work. I just connected my SSD (the disk with Windows 10 on it.) into the SATA 1 slot and selected it in my 1 boot option. Once I save, it keeps telling me "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key. I do also have a WD Caviar HDD. PLease help me.
  5. I want a 1440p monitor. I heard how much monitors are better than TV's for are for PC's. I will be using this monitor for gaming and light content creation. Just in case you need to know: My CPU is an Intel Core i5-6500 and a GTX 1060. Good Luck! Must be: 1440p IPS 27" and up Under $400 CAD
  6. No its not bad. If you want to save some money, I would go for the 650W G2. It seems like you have a pretty high end build, so I would stick with it. You would never want to be cheap with a build like this.
  7. It's straightforward. I am getting cablemod widebeam RGB Strips and I am wondering, can it connect to my MSI B150 Gaming M3 in the case? Do I have to buy something that will make it able to connect or no?
  8. Alright, well are you going to use it for gaming or what?
  9. WAAYYYYY better. Totally get it. If you're looking for budget though. I recommend getting a Ryzen CPU if you don't have that much money. It seems like you do though since your considering getting an i7 8700K. 8 cores are better, but the quality of the cores really count. FX cores are trash and not quality. Intel cores, however, are quality, and even if you have fewer cores, it will still perform better. AMD Ryzen series, however, is way better in quality. Plus if you're going to get a new CPU, you also need to get an entirely different motherboard and the sockets are different. Tell me your price range if you want me to find one for you.
  10. https://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823828018&cm_re=g.skill_km570-_-23-828-018-_-Product Not really silent but I think its a good replacement. I have the same keyboard and its great for typing. I dont know your tastes but theres a good chance it looks like its made for gamers. Just check it out though.
  11. On Gigabytes website, they say that mobo has support for DDR4 XMP up to 4000 Mhz so you should be good.
  12. Just crank up your core clock until your game crashes, then decrease it until it stops for optimal performance.
  13. So I am getting some custom cable and I have some questions. 1. On the Cablemod configurator website, there is only a dual 6+2 pin option which is what I have for my graphics card currently. It looks terrible having the extra pin sticking out like a sour thumb. My question is, can I use an 8 pin pcie cable or do I have to use the dual 6+2 pin. My graphics card is an MSI GTX 1060 Twin Frozr VI. 2. I am really confused on ssd and hard drive cables. I want to get 1 extension cable for a Sata Power cable. Can I connect this sata power cable to a current sata cable and will it be Jolly Fine. Much Appreciated if you make a configuration list consisting of Non-Custom PSU Cables with a 24 Pin Power cable, a pcie cable for my gpu, and a sata power extension. Thank you in Advance.
  14. @Keystone Nyan Cat Its a joke. Abbotsford is only 75 km away from The Richmond Oval.
  15. @CPotter If I come from Abbotsford, can I get a tour?
  16. Rendering Software is Wondershare Filmora. The budget depends on how much I could sell my Current CPU for. So maybe around $400 - $500 CAD I am located in Vancouver.
  17. I have a couple questions. I want a faster and better CPU. I have had some bad FPS with CPU Heavy games. Also, I would like to render videos and animations faster. I was thinking up upgrading to a good Coffee Lake processor. I was thinking of getting an i7 8700 (Costs less an I don't think I want to overclock.) My current CPU is an i5 6500. So here are my questions. How much could I sell my i5 6500 for? and can I upgrade from Sky Lake to Coffee Lake right now without buying any new parts other than the CPU. Current motherboard is MSI B150 Gaming M3. Thanks in advance!
  18. All I found was this one on Newegg https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113449&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA-PC-_-pla-_-Processors+-+Desktops-_-N82E16819113449&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3dTQBRDnARIsAGKSflkMfPFEF9d7dslHpNJLJa8tHT21k-39bOxFVtZ267rTYsYLponL-SUaAs1oEALw_wcB Try looking on Newegg, they might have more.
  19. Heres the difference between m.2 and 2.5" M.2: 2.5" :
  20. I would recommend swapping the CPU for a locked one. Unless you have your heart set on overclocking, it seems like your new to pc building, so I would recommend getting the Ryzen 5 1600. Youll saves a lot of money. I would also change the m.2 into a 2.5" Samsung SSD, here's a good one. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3kL7YJ/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz75e250bam I don't know if you know this but you don't have a case.
  21. What are you planning to use the pc for? Productivity, gaming, etc. Whats your budget in your preferred currency? $500 CAD, $300 USD.
  22. Go with the S8, the display is amazing and the camera is gorgeous
