  1. Want to do something in filmmaking. I am also an audio engineer, musician and photographer so hopefully I can figure out something that incorporates all of them. Maybe I'll start my own business...
  2. Sorry, I'll clarify, I meant the first time they are pushing innovation without a third party. CD's, vinyls, iTunes etc were all invented by third parties and contributed to the music industry, whereas the labels are essentially IMO the core of the industry itself as it stands today. But I totally agree, I think they know they need to be quicker on their feet to protect their assets.
  3. Looks really interesting, if there was a format that was pushed standard across different platforms it would the first time the music industry itself is trying to innovate. It would be a different advantage to buying your music over streaming I guess too.
  4. Sweet, ok I'm probably going to switch over my SSD over to the intel ports tonight. Thought they were 3gb/s ports. Guess it pays off to read the manual :P
  5. Yeah, I have heard that the Marvell ports and drivers have caused issues. Do you know if all of the SATA ports use the Marvell controller? Or if its just the 6gb/s ports...
  6. +1 for t0wers suggestion. Blue mics are fantastic and easy to setup and use. If you can find one used, i wouldn't worry too much as they are pretty reliable, but use the price as an indication of the condition or maybe contact the seller?
  7. I've tried to use BlueScreenView before, but I couldn't get it to work, especially because after it did BSOD, I couldn't actually get into the computer through safe mode or anything. However, secure erasing the SSD and reinstalling as normal has apparently worked with no problems for now.
  8. Nope, filmmaking, drumming and photography all trump my pc costs. Any hobby can get expensive.
  9. Hey! Yeah, I have literally done all of those suggestions already :P Installed windows over 40 times now, every time trying to focus down on what the issue is, since I can't access the memory dumps. Every time its at a random point, sometimes it will be after I install a certain driver or it might happen as soon as I install the OS. Oh well, OCZ support is being really helpful at the moment, as I think it may be a hard drive issue. Thanks though! :)
  10. Ok, If anyone wants to know, I kept trying everything under the sun to get this to work, to no avail. However, just last night I completely reset my SSD with the help of support at OCZ, and so far so good. I will keep running the system to see if it goes into chkdsk (which is usually the signal that its going to BSOD). I just want my system to work because of the crapload of awesome games coming out right now! :P
  11. Wow that looks sweet as! Now I kinda wanna ditch my case for an R4 :P Bet you are enjoying that Titan too!
  12. Just gonna say that as a filmmaker, I prefer the mac ecosystem with Final Cut. I've toyed with the idea of going Adobe or AVID on my self-built rig but I don't think I'm ready to switch yet. As some other people have been saying, different people have different needs, and I think some people hate macs just because they want to hate on someone. Whether you like the company or not, you have to admit they make good products, with most of the time, extraordinary design. I'm not saying that other companies don't have great design because they do, but I feel that its fair to say that Apple has set the bar before and might again in plenty of areas. Obviously this forum is going to be biased, but its all tech, and if you dislike Apple's products, maybe you appreciate your self built modded watercooled rig a lot more. :P PS. not a fanboy :)
  13. Makes sense, depends on how they sell the new xbox though I guess. And does that mean cross platform play, unification of the 2 platforms or just better integration between the two. Could be interesting!
