  1. @BlueChinchillaEatingDorito I can return it to the shop I bought it from within 14 days but it's already the second unit I've got from them since the 1st one just went off and didn't turn back on after a few hours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. Hello! I just got a brand new monitor and I can see two dark pixels on a white background, one in the top third and one in the bottom left corner. My question is if this is stuck or dead since I can't see the dark (almost black) spots on black, red, blue and purple. I did some research, people say it's dead when it's just not lit up anywhere but I guess that's not the case for me? I tested this with deadpixelbuddy if that matters. I also ran multiple rgb-flasher apps over night and tried to 'massage' the pixels several times, no success Thank you!
  3. You could download an ICC profile from reviewing sites like this one http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm But keep in mind that not every monitor is the same so it can look off on your particular model vs another exact same model for example. If you are using the panel professionally, you need a calibration tool.
  4. I would rather go for a quality panel over a 'cheapo' one, a good picture does not only consist of panel size and resolution.
  5. @djdwosk97 My point was that because of ports and cables it's a better idea to rely on DP. I wouldn't take the risk of one component not being HDMI 2.0/2.1 ready as of right now.
  6. @Rutham 1. FHD or above - Depends on screensize and viewing distance 2. 24 inch (23.**inch) and above - Depends on your preference and viewing distance 2. IPS - You mentoined that you are working with Photoshop etc, IPS is a must at this pricerange 3. Anti-glare coated screen (Matte Finish) - You won't really find anything else, the coating varies between models tho 3. Budget 150 USD - 300 USD - I think a 23,xx-24,xx inch monitor is your best bet 4. Color calibrated if possible - The Dell U2417H is factory calibrated, I own one myself (aswell as a 144Hz TN panel which you simply cannot use for color sensitive work AT ALL), if you really need accurate colors a color calibrating tool like the 'Spyder4 Express' is a good idea 5. Ports - DisplayPort is the way to go 6. Vesa mount - Available on the Dell 7. Response time below 8ms ?? - Compared to my 1ms TN @ 60Hz I don't see a difference to the response of the 60Hz IPS, 144Hz is another league be aware(!) 8. Refersh rate 60 or above (like if i get anything in my budget) - With your budget it's IPS or 144Hz, if you want both (and bad quality assurance) you will start at 500 bucks upwards I would recommend a good FHD IPS panel rather than a cheapo 4k TN or 1440p, especially if you value a 'good picture' besides resolution and refresh rate only. I owned my TN for a year, I can't recommend it as main display for you.. neither for myself I hope I could help you a bit, if you still have questions feel free to ask
  7. I'm pretty certain that DP will but I would not rely on HDMI.
  8. If anyone of you is still reading this, I got my new Dell side by side with the XL2411Z, I would never go back to a TN as main display, it's just that much better
  9. Keep in mind that you are not only getting the inch more but also 1440p resolution I was looking at the P2418D today, a 24" panel also with 1440p res but only around 260 bucks for me. I think I will go for the U2417H personally, I've done alot of research lately, seems to be the best 24" FHD all around. Edit: 2417H bought x)
  10. Maybe the successor model is available, Dell U2417H
  11. For 24" IPS I think the Dell U2417H is a pretty good choice, factory calibrated, hight adjustable and around 200 bucks https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2417h-u2417ha/
  12. Pixel responsiveness plays a role indeed but I'm pretty sure it's the refresh.
  13. @djdwosk97 I think you misunderstood, I was talking about a worse picture quality when you bump up the refresh. I know that TN panels are shifting heavily depending on viewingangles
  14. @djdwosk97 Okay, I haven't considered that tbh. I was reading about this problem though, people complaining about vibrancy at higher refresh rates. My question would be, does your picture shift aswell?
  15. They are good, but in different aspects. I own a 2411Z myself and it does not have a good color reproduction or in general a nice 'picture quality' except for the performance. I'm talking about the refresh and it's strobing ability, both are really pulling on the acutal eye candy. On my model the colors wash out drastically when I go up from 60 Hz which is the reason I finally decided to buy an U2417H I'm actually on 60Hz since weeks bc of the colors and I got used to it again.. belive it or not... TL DR, the 2411Z (in my opinon) is a raw performance panel and nothing else. @EXALTED oreo Pixel response is important aswell but I'd say refresh rate is more important overall. A 60Hz panel won't stand a chance against any high refresh, even 75 or 100 Hz, in terms of raw performance. Also I wan't to mention that high performance, or refresh rate, models that 'look good' are expensive.
