  1. So after purchasing alot of old motherboards with various setups. I finally built this : More details will follow....
  2. I noticed a similar issue when power delivery to my RX580 was variable on auto. Forcing the card to run at high freq static fixed the issue, i don't have modern nvidia cards though so cant comment if it can be solved like the AMD side.
  3. OKay i play Starcitizen and its more complex than you may think. VRAM requirements are 4.5GB exactly as of 2.6 patch. This may increase or decrease with optimization / development. BUT from testing i can assure you of the following issue if you use less than 4.5gb of usable VRAM you need 12-14GB of System RAM. This is because the game likes to use your ram for swoping needed files. If you use a card with 4.5GB of usable VRAM the game only needs 9GB of system RAM. So ideally you need 16GB with a 3GB GPU and 12GB with a 6GB GPU. Now here's the bigger issue Starcitizen will not utilize any GPU currently and you will see massive variation in GPU load from 0% to 100% and anywhere in between which causes stutters etc. This effect wasn't evident in my old GPU tests which pegged "maxed out" the GPU utilization of say my HD4890 but on the opposite spectrum couldnt effectively use my RX 580 thus my card would want to throttle its core speed from 800mhz to 1430mhz. So in short the best solution doesn't exist yet. But i can assure you that the game responses very well to high CPU speed even when its not using 100%. I sore massive gains from a simple 200mhz overclock. So all that crap aside im using the following 4790k at 4.2GHZ static 32GB of 1833mhz DDR3 RX 580 8GB special edition "fastest one on the market" alternative card test was a R9 280 3GB windforce OC At 1440P max settings i was seeing 25-40 sometimes upto 70 in port ollisar In the FPS game 60+ constant same settings! Hope this was more what you were looking for! Personally i would recommend a 1070TI minimum and overclock your CPU to 5GHZ and your in for the best experience without going insane. Cheers Vintage
  4. I know what my rig can and cannot do my friend and if i own a game u want to bench against me lets go!
  5. I Personally hate when people state things as if they know what their talking about :
  6. So everything's here ! I've updated the bios to 2.31C and successfully booted up my AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.1ghz stock! It felt like a weight of my chest to just see the bios if I'm honest! So WHAT NOW! -Install WIN7 / XP64 on 2 different drives! -Setup all the PC cards test overclocks as I'm aiming for 3.4ghz -Enjoy my new vintage computer and get my YOUTUBE CHANNEL ACTUALLY FLOWING AGAIN!
  7. No get 16gb of ram and clock ur 4690k to 4.4ghz with a AIO then buy a 1070TI or minimum RX580
  8. NEw gpu you need a vega 56 or a 1070ti and your all set
  9. Btw i own the 4790k so i can answer any questions you have!
  10. The Intel 4690k i5 is near equal in terms of gaming performance and about half the price of the 4790k - pair it with a R9 280 3GB and your going to be maxing out most games at 1080p and it should sit nicely in your budget!
  11. I have a HD 4670 AGP and a 7800GS waiting for the board. Even have the expansion board to make it a AM2 8GB board.
  12. I have tried to purchase two over the last month and both have become lost in mail by none other than UK MAIL! If anyone has one could you please sell me it preferably knowing its 100% working and preferably in the UK. Thanks for reading and have a great December!
  13. Little update the CPU upgrade board arrived along with a 939 4000+ chip had to repair the pins but should be fine! Aiming to get a ageia card too.
